Hi guys just join your forum. Be kind I'm new to guns. Love my new S&W M&P 1522 just went to the range yesterday with my daughter her first time shooting, she liked shooting the 1522. Anyway had no FTE shooting 150 rounds. The previous 2 times gun was jamming. Bent up little finger? in chamber area a little, it seem to work. I also put a light coating of gun grease on bolt slide and parts not oil. I'm a precision machinist by trade 30 years but new to owning guns. I'm into classic cars and own a 69 hugger orange Z28 for 24 years. Yes I'm getting old. also love watches but stop buying them now because of new gun hobbie . would rather kill time then look at it.

Welcome to the forum, Dan! My daughter loves my 15-22, also. Be careful, though. You can shoot up a lot of ammo in a hurry with multiple 25-round magazines. :)

Welcome, Dan! I'm pretty new to all this myself, got my 15-22 almost a year ago. I've never had any issues with jams, occassionally a FTF but pretty rare - mostly American Eagle in my case. Others have said that they've seen issues with jams based on how the mag is loaded - the rounds need to be nose up.

Enjoy the time with family,

Dan

Just a word of the wise, stay away from plinker tactical mags they're juck! You'll get FTF all the time.

Welcome from Oklahoma City! You will thoroughly enjoy your 15-22. Second on staying away from the picture thread, unless you want to empty your wallet!

For information... 10,782 rounds sent down range with only 30 failures (load, fire, or eject). That's .28% with about 15 different types of ammunition. Federal Champions in the brown box (Blue box worked better, don't know why), and Remington Golden Bullets had the highest failure rates, but nothing excessive.

Agree with the Plinker Tactical magazines. Had one, and it was a nightmare. Sticking with factory magazines from now on.

Welcome! Here you will find fine people who know S&W revolvers and the S&W 15 and 15-22! Congratulations on the purchase of a 15-22. Lay in plenty of .22 LR ammo and magazines. Then take that rifle and your daughter to the range!

Welcome to the forum. If you enjoy the 15-22, then it is official I will go ahead and give a diagnosis of "Black Rifle Disease." It is agressive, and spreads fast. There is no known cure, so I wish you luck. :D It can and will lead to a big brother, or 10. The .22 LR ammo situation is horrible right now, but you should be able to scrape enough together to do a little shooting.

Speaking on those Remington bullets, I am not a fan of them. I haven't got a chance to use mine but they came very dirty compared to the Federals!

And Midway has 50 rounder's on sale, they work great for me but you can go through a lot of ammo with them also. Besides you can get two 25 rounder's plus change for a 50.

And a warm welcome from "wild and wonderful " West Virginia at least that's what they tell us.
