Anybody used one of these S&W Branded cases - they are made by Allen, and are basically the same design as the Condor/VooDoo Tactical/Drago/etc 2 gun soft case.

I actually bought a Drago but am returning it because the color is off, and was just going to get a VooDoo Tactical, but then I saw the S&W branded one and would like to get the branded one if the quality is good - I guess it's Allen products I should be asking about :).

Only thing I notice is it is 38" where the others are 36", but I suppose they may be measuring this one externally vs internally...

Amazon.com: Smith and Wesson M&P Double Rifle Case, Black, 38-Inch: Sports & Outdoors

I guess I've always associated Allen with "budget" products, not that that's a bad thing necessarily, but if that's the case here I would probably go with the VT.

I've owned two Allen bags, one was a range bag and the other was a rifle case. Both held up great. I gave the range bag to a friend of mine who still uses it 2yrs later. The rifle case was sold with the rifle.I'm currently using a bulldog case that has held up really well, but that s&w case looks awesome. I just added one to my Amazon cart. The 38" length I'm guessing is to accommodate the m&p 10, 37.6" collapsed.

I have the 42" double case. I love it. The 2 outer pouches can hold 10 magazines, 5 in each. The center maybe 7. I haven't tried the center pouch yet I carry my 15-22 and my 20" DPMS. There is plenty of storage in it. It comes with straps to wear as a backpack. Behind the 3 pouches there is a zippered area for more storage. I can take more detailed pics if you want.

Does it have two internal straps per side like the Voodoo/Condor/Drago, or multiple strap in points like the 5.11? I wish 5.11 made the double in a 36", would be a no brainer - all I can find is the 42", although there is a youtube review of a 36" - it just doesn't seem to exist anymore... If you have time to post some pics that would be great - thanks

Here you go. I hope this helps . These bags are available at Midway, 36" & 42". The last pic is the storage behind the 3 pouches. You can attach molle gear on both ends of the case.

Here is another view of the storage behind the pouches. Its a pretty good size. I'm sure I could fit a pistol bag or 2 in it. I got this for Christmas, so I have really had time to really mess around with it. I could fit all I need to take with me to the range in this case.

I looked at that case forever. I think it is a Condor etc. I almost sprung for it until I saw the silkscreen S&W emblem live and in person. It was kind of a turn off. The bag was fine. So I thought I would buy a Condor because it could be found online for about $20.00 cheaper with free shipping. I bought a S&W M&P patch to sew on it. Then I found these guys.
Airsoft GI

The key is to look for the bags marked second grade. I did not move fast enough to get a black one, but the ACU was in stock and I went for it. Shipping to my town was $9.55. I could find no major defects with it and thought I would pass along the info.:)

P.S. I own a couple of Allen cases also, and they are great! Good luck on your purchase!

Looks good, as mentioned it basically looks like the VooDoo/Drago line, which is also very similar to the Condor line. Put in my order tonight along with the small S&W Tactical Range Bag as well :).

Most places are listing this as a 38" bag, but my 36" Drago can measure 38" depending whether it's measured laying flat, in which case it's longer - or full, in which case it comes in at 36". And, and based on the molle strap locations I am thinking they are basically the same size as well. Allen/S&W may just be measuring slightly differently than the others... I'll report back when it arrives. Thanks again for the pics.

Dave,
I'm was under the impression the logo is embroidered, not silkscreened? I could be wrong but I swore the description said embroidered.

I agree, it definitely follows the Condor/VT/Drago design, moreso the Voodoo/Drago based on the pocked and molle config, but they are all very similar... To be honest I preferred the internal strapping options of the 5.11, but didn't want a 42" bag. Apparently they discontinued the 36" version :(.

There really wasn't anything wrong with the Drago I bought, other than expecting a Desert Tan and it turning out to be an odd greenish-gold blend of a color...yuck. It goes back tomorrow.

The bag is made by Allen. The emblem is embroidered not silk screen. It's a well made bag. It feels very durable. The American flag patch does not come with the bag, but there is Velcro there to attach your favorite patch.

Excuse me, I stand corrected. It was embroidered, but not as nice as I thought it would be. Almost like an afterthought. Again the bag was very nice, but not the logo in my eyes.I was being picky, but I know if I buy something, I will be stuck with it. I just figured I could personalize a bag to my liking for less!:)

Arrived today... I'm on the fence. It's correctly sized, ie that it's 38", at least. Approaches 40" when filling it :(. The layout, pockets, straps, etc are basically identical to the Voodoo Tactical/Drago bags. It also has molle straps on the backside, kinda. It has two rows b/c the webbing for the backpack straps takes up the other areas. I guess you could attach something, though.

The fabric seems...lighter than the Drago, but it's listed as 1200D where the Drago was 600D, so that doesn't make sense. Maybe that is a different measurement, ie not thickness but abrasion resistance or something like that? It almost seems like the Allen/S&W is more consumer grade (thinner, softer), while the Drago was more military grade (thicker, stiffer) fabric wise, if that make sense. I don't think the fabric will be an issue, it just surprised me. The border padding seems thinner as well, but I could be mistaken.

It also has that awful smell some petroleum based fabric goods have, (which the Drago did not). I assume it will go away over a few days.

It is sharp looking, however, The logo is a grey, almost subdued grey, and looks sweet. Still, I can't help feeling the Drago was a better bag. It was 36", seemed tougher, had metal rings for strap attachements vs plastic for this one... I don't know. I've bought 3 bags this week and returned two. Getting tired of buying bags :(. May wind up sending back and getting the black Drago though instead.

Well, it was a quick decision, it's going back :(. The smell I could deal with, as it usually dissipates after a couple days, but I looked closer at the zippers and stitching and such, and the stitching on a couple of the pocket straps is already unraveling. That and the thinner padding sealed it's fate.

So, on to the VooDoo 36". However, after I ordered it I noticed the S&W/Allen and Voodoo Scorpion range bags are exactly the same bag, so I suspect the gun bags may be as well. Not exactly the same I guess, since the S&W/Allen was definitely 38"+ while the Voodoo should be 36". Find out Friday, I guess...

So, for anyone interested in a short compare - no actual use here, just observations before I shipped them back...

UTG Covert 38" - I liked it, but as soon as I got two rifles with optics it was a no go.
The rest are basically similar design:
Drago 36" - solid, but god-awful color for Tan. If it was actually Tan I would have stopped on this one.
S&W/Allen/S&W 38" - Seems thinner, smelly, and had stitching issues
Voodoo 36" - Ordered - may be similar to S&W/Allen - TBD.
Condor - looked at one at the range, seemed solid but I preferred the pockets of the above models.
5.11 - if they still made a 36" I probably would have ordered this before the Drago and this thread would never exist :). If they ever re-introduce the 36" (or I find a decent used one), I will own it.

So, basically if the Voodoo doesn't work out it's back to the Drago, just have to go with a different color I guess.

Amazon is hating me right now lol

I have the Condor 42" dbl case in black

works fantastic... Very strong and the stitching is very solid. I use it every week, shoot 1-2x a week... I carry 2=AR's and in the side 26" zipper pocket I have my M&P 15-22P in it

I dont Carry mags in it anymore... but a few odds and end... Stereo headphones, xtra grips and Parts, occasionaly a backup or xtra red Dot

The inside pockets in the zippered area holds a pistol great... i went camping and swapped out a few guns into this instead of my BIG range bag... was perfect..

I really Like it... was a great Buy..

They all look very similar....The condor dosent have the molle on the ends like the Drago.. but dont think its Needed.. the 3 Pouches carry PLenty

OP... you said you saw a Condor at the Range but liked the Others Pockets better... what pockets... they appear the exact same to me

Hope the Voodoo dosent smell like for ya:D

Just what you had stated, Condor not having the additional molle straps, and that the pockets themselves while basically the same as the others were molle vs sewn. Each has it's benefits I suppose, probably can't go wrong either way. If the VT is same as the S&W, maybe I just go Condor in Tan...real Tan :).

I really like my Condor..... the pockets are very sturdy.. i took one of them off for awhile and had it on my Belt as an additional Mag Pocket for Drills... i now have a TAC vest so I put it the pouch back on my Bag.. Nice how they come on and off so easy but are very secure as well..

the Xtra Molle straps I guess would be nice, but you can get soooo much in it as is..... adding more would make it like 85lbs....LOL

2 AR's and misc stuff is heavy enough:D

P.S.
thats about the WORST typing i have ever done... so bad i had ta fix it....LOL

A very valid point lol...

Well, the journey finally ends... the Voodoo is going to do the trick I believe. Essentially the same design as the S&W/Allen (and others), in 36" format. However, the fabric feels sturdier, all the hardware is metal, and the padding seems more substantial as well.

Here it is in Coyote Tan (still not completely Tan to me, but much better than the Drago "Green/Gold" Tan, at least), along with my Optics Ready with a few new Magpul goodies as well. :D Jurys still out on the handguard/handgrip combo, but the STR and MOE+ grip are keepers for sure! Also sporting a set of Magpul Pro BUIS's, which allowed me to move my standard ones over to the 15-22 replacing the yucky PTS ones.

Also, for anyone on the fence, the STR stock is amazing. The extra cheek is very comfortable and makes quick sighting a breeze.

EDiT - not sure what happened to the pic, but here's another with the bag. Looks much different than the rifle described above though lol. Lot's of different parts now :).

I bought one of these but took it back. I didn't like that the center decider didn't go all the way to the top of the case. I'm going to buy a condor.

78Staff, that looks really good (and the rifle doesn't look to bad either) ;). I've been thinking about replacing my old Tac bag for a while now, and after looking at the new Voodoo Tactical bags, I think I may follow your lead. :D

I hadn't noticed that, but I did not look super close tbh. I may grab a single bag for the 15-22 as well for trips to the local indoor ranges that do not allow rifle cartridges, if I do I'll likely get the Condor or possibly the 5.11 single bag.

I am pleased with it - loaded it up today with both rifles, with optics, and about 15 magazines between them including some long plinker mags and the Mad Dog 50 rounder , no issues at all. Carried nice, balanced well, no stress. I really like the external pockets for magazines, without screaming gun case like the angled tactical bags do.

I have the 5.11 36" rifle case and it's great. Really nice quality. I bought 3 stacked double mag pouches and a 6.6 pouch for mine. They used to make a 36" double but that has been discontinued. You can only get the double in the 42".

Yes the 5.11 looks very nice, too bad they discontinued the 36 double...
