New Shield. Need some help.

I just bought this new Shield at my LGS and today when I was just checking it out I noticed that there was like a line or crease on the right side. It looks to me like maybe the mold was notched too close and the metal creased the plastic.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is this supposed to be like this?

Mine looks exactly like yours, I never questioned it though.

My Shield 40 has the same mark. Not as pronounced as your mark appears to be, but you can see it if you hold it at the right angle. You can also feel it if you run your finger over it. I have ~2000 rounds through it with no issues.

Never really paid any attention to it, but my Shield 40 has a similar bulge in the frame. Likely designed in for extra material for internal metal for slide stop. Certainly is nothing to be concerned about.

After putting another 100 or so rounds through it the bulge became a crack. I returned to S&W in November and got a new replacement back a few weeks ago. Overall I am happy with the customer service.

WOW. Turns out it is something to worry about guys.
And to the Shield 40 guys, an additional worry to add to the foreboding list.
