FishingPilot, I assumed your were going to say you were at the ACE Hardware in Lynchburg. The founder of that store built his gun business on the fact that first Western Auto (his original franchise) then ACE both had lots of gun buying power by their corporate size, but lots of their individual stores didn't carry guns or ammo. In fact, the Lynchburg store is a gun store with a little hardware!

Not that one but some of my guns are from there. I'm in Winchester (moved from Bedford for some dumb reason). My parents are in Amherst. I come down there a lot to shoot skeet and 5-stand with my dad over at Isaac Walton. I want a 5-stand in my backyard. Lynchburg is my old stomping grounds. I worked in the R&D lab for Ericsson many years ago.

Beaufort

Schofield's Ace in Florence sells guns, or at least a couple of years ago when I was through there, and reloading supplies too. Had some used guns on the rack, but nothing that intrested me at the time.

I hear there is a place in Beaufort that sell guns but it's a bit of a drive. If I knew what I would find there I'd make the trip, but not just to 'see'.

Ace is the Place

Glad to hear it . I`m west of Richmond also. There is an Ace store in N.Myrtle Beach (Boulineaus) that the last time I was there had an inventory of long guns and a really good bit of ammo.

We don't have an Ace where I live. Atwoods is our hardware store where you can buy just about anything including handguns, shotguns, rifles and ammo.

Fleet farm in Minnesota started selling reloading supplies. Decent stock and prices.

WI too. Prices seem good. They got lots of stuff. No 2400 or H110/296, but Bullseye and Unique. Plus lots of odd parts, but not what I am looking for.

I was surprised it took them this long. I went to a Gander Mtn, that didn't carry anything. I don't have much use for them.

The only gun related thing our small town Ace sells is Chore Boy pads and 3 in 1 oil. I have been in a half dozen different Ace Hardware stores in Texas and none sold anything related to firearms.

Yep. I',m in Winchester also and drive out there for my hair cut (Stephens City Barbershop or Larry's barbershop as some call it) every few months and always stop in at Ace to check 'inventories'.

Same here. Gander is my source of last resort. If I need it that day or tomorrow then Gander it is. I've learned to plan ahead so not much use for Gander anymore.

None of our Ace/Tru Value stores sell gun anything.

A few years back I was visiting my mom in Salina, Kansas. Went up to the Ace for a hammer or something & was greeted by two whole aisles of powders, bullets, primers, accessories...

Pawn shop down the street had better prices on powder & primers though.

If I'd gotten stopped at the Kali border I'm sure I would have raised some eyebrows!

The Ace Hardware store in Oak Harbor WA sells handguns, as well as ammo. The Payless drug store in Port Angeles WA used to sell handloading supplies 15-20 years ago, but not any longer.
Kind of depends on where these places are. Are they franchises, umbrella'd by the chain outfit but owned locally? That would explain it. Or maybe they give the local store managers some latitude in determining what to sell.

Ace in Colorado doesn't sell anything gun related

Ace Hdw in Loveland sells firearms, ammo and accessories.

Here in the Gun Shine State nobody sells reloading except Bass Pro and their prices are crazy. Not too many Dander Mts near me. There are 6 or 7 but more North and central.

Years ago you could buy guns in the hardware stores but most of the gold old fashioned stores are gone. The ones that had everything.
Now the Ace and Tru Value are like Pharmacy's and sell food and lawn furniture.

Heck even the gun shops do not sell reloading stuff.

None in Ohio sell anything gun related that I know of.

Same here in Northeast PA, not even a picture of a gun or ammo! (and this is a very gun friendly commonwealth)

Here in central WA one of my local ACE stores has a well stocked gun counter and a decent selection of reloading stuff.
I bought some Varget and 77SMK's there just the other day.

Some do, it is hit and miss. I know the one in Loveland sells guns and ammo, but no reloading supplies. Most do out in eastern Colorado, but it seems any of them that are in larger cities do not.

I don't go in there every week but they usually have primers behind the counter at the Loveland store. Mike may have powder stashed somewhere for special customers but I've never seen it.
