I recently visited my home state to visit family and by a gun. As this was a weekend trip and Saturday was the only day I would have to shop and purchase before heading home. After a 12 hr. drive on a Friday and a good rest I woke up ready to go. Me and my Dad headed out for what we planned as a whole day of gun shopping. I was in the market for a Glock. Being a revolverholic I had yet to own one myself. We made it to the first gun shop and coincidently the S&W revolver case is right before the Glock case. I looked down and saw a nice looking Model 10-8 upon further inspection I found that the gun appeared as if it had never been fired. It literally felt and looked like a brand new gun. As if I had time warped back to the early 80's this gun is literally NIB and the price was right($500)
I still have to take a deep breath every time I think about this purchase and had to share. Thanks

One of my favorite S&Ws; congrats on your purchase. ;)

When you say NIB, does that mean matching box, papers and docs, too?

Thanks it shoots great very accurate just needs some breaking in!

The cornerstone of any S&W revolver fan, congratulations on your M 10-8!

I now fully comprehend why we are Forum members: the simple act of finding an excellent example of probably the most common, plain-vanilla, garden-variety gun, the Model 10, causes us such joy!

I know, too many words in that sentence. And my apologies to all the other handguns out there, no gun feels better in the hand, at least to me, than a 4" HB 10/13/64/65 with Magna grips and a Tyler grip adapter.

Ah!, The Model 10 is one of my favorite Smiths as well. Very Nice buy. Congratulations, and hope you enjoy her.

Deep breath!

THAWK66, never mind deep breath, I would have hyperventilated finding THAT revolver for THAT price! Very cool!
I have one too, and the stars aligned for me also. Mine is a former duty gun whose owner took incredibly good care of it.
Nice find! Have fun shooting it! Nice photos, BTW. Here's mine. Yes, kaaskop49, I agree. For me, S&W are a great source
of joy for those exact reasons, and more.

Doesn't it? It wasn't fired much, and there's hardly any holster wear. Don't know for sure, but it could be his department switched to semi-autos, so this beauty went into the safe.
I do know it was one of his favorites.

I was fortunate to be friends with his wonderful wife (still am). When he passed (cancer sucks), she remembered I was looking for a good shooting, classy looking revolver.

So through unhappy/happy circumstances, I was able to adopt it. I wish I had been able to go to the range with K. He was very knowledgeable, and a good shot according to his widow.

I got a 10-8 on the forum a couple years ago that was a LEO gun from NY for $210 shipped. Came with a chewed up leather holster and looks like he tied the gun to a string on the back of his squad when not in use. But oh my god does it shoot and shoot well.

Yours is a much sharper looker. :D Congrats.
