I can't speak for the OP, but for me I'd like to try the new, updated one that gives a better reset.

That is why I bought them for my Pro 40 and Pro 9 that for some reason did not come with the new slide lock. They were made in October and December of 2013. The 9c I recently purchased that was manufactured in September 2013 does however have the new slide stop and does have a very good reset. I installed the Apex RAM in the Pros and the 9c has a very similar feel and sound to the Pros on reset.

I have not installed the new slide locks in the Pros yet but plan to do so shortly.

G & R Tactical is only place I know of to get them right now. Speed Shooter does not have the new ones yet unless they have just recently got them. The only problem with G & R is that they have a $50 minimum.

How does the slide lock give you a better reset? I thought that the new trigger housing block gives you the better reset.

No, neither the trigger block nor the sear block (you must have meant one of these) helps with reset.

The new slide stop pushes on the trigger bar with a little force. This causes a more noticeable reset.

By putting a little lateral force on the trigger bar, this makes it "click" more as it snaps back under the sear.

I don't have the Apex RAM so, I can't answer that question. Then again, if you have the RAM, you don't need the new slide stop.

No, not extended. There is a hump on the trigger bar side that kicks the trigger bar over giving a tactile and audible sound when it resets.
