Does your Tacticool22 shroud fit like this?

I bought a new 15-22 that comes with a threaded business-end, and purchased this shroud to accompany it.

Out of curiosity, does anyone else have this amount of overhang from this product? There's no washer on in this photo, and from what they tell me 1/8" is expected (but this is more like 1/4"). The shroud is reversible for an "alternate look."

mine was similar, but i did not want to discard the plastic

spider "thingy" the barrel goes through at the end of the rail

so i just popped my shroud in the lathe and adjusted to suit:D

have you removed your "thingy" to let the shroud go further on:D

The thread length in the shroud is .750 inch and the standard thread for 1/2-28 rifles is .625 long. If you had your barrel threaded for a .22LR can, the gunsmith probably threaded it .450 long, which is pistol length.
The extra unused threads in the shroud will do nothing but protect the crown of the muzzle more.

Just to clarify, I purchased the rifle new from GRABAGUN about a month ago. A1 style model 811033 that's threaded by the factory.

This leaves me wondering if S&W has actually quietly rolled out a revision to the thread length. Serial #HBX9xxx

It's possible. Can you take a picture of the threads? Maybe with a ruler or something for scale.
