If I could will some of these singers that I like to go on tour, at least locally. I can tell you who I would like to see.

I would love to see the Traveling Wilburys. I know Roy Orbison and George Harrison are gone, but boy what a hit they would have if they could get Mark Knofler from Dire Straits to take up Harrison's place. I would love to see that line up.

Kris Kristofferson, I don't know why but I like his music alot. I know he's getting on in years but I would like to see him come this far north so I could see him live.

I would see Mark Knofler by himself as well or if he ever reformed Dire Straits somehow, but since he was pretty much the driving force behind it if he went on tour locally alone I would go see him.

John Fogerty, I have been a big CCR fan for as long as I can recall, and he shows up on tour sporadically and would love to see him once.

Eric Clapton, he's been high on my list for a long time, and every time he comes around locally the tickets cost so much I can't begin to afford him and its always a long drive of a couple hours.

There are a few others but who are the groups or musicians you would go see if you could that are still alive and kicking.

pantera...diamond darryl abbott, their guitarist was shot on stage with another group a number of years ago by a fan that was mad that Pantera would not be getting back together.

last May, i saw their lead singer live with one of his current bands(DOWN) and in october, i'll get to see the drummer, also the brother of diamond with the band they were both in when he was killed.

the only one left to see would be the bassist and i'm not a big fan of his current group...

my other 2 grail groups were Shinedown and Black Label Society. i managed Shindeown last summer and BLS in May also. It was a bonus to hear one of the opening bands was DOWN. Zakk Wilde is basically BLS. He came on the scene as Ozzy Osbourne's guitarist for the no more tears tour way back in 1991/1992...saw him then...he is amazing on stage and i would go see him again in a heart beat...

any concert worth going to is at least a 90 minute drive...

David, yo didn't get into a Peote patch by mistake did-ja?:D
Like all your choices.

I am absolutely fed up with this business of paying $150+ for a concert ticket.

I've seen lots of concerts.

Had to pay quite a bit for scalper prices to see Alabama Shakes at the 9:30 Club a few months ago. But, my wife really wanted to see them (again), so I bit the bullet on that one - which fortunately didn't cost *that* much even at scalper prices. No seating. Had to stand for the opening act and the headliner.

Saw Ralph Stanley at the Birchmere a few years ago. Reasonable ticket prices as I recall.

I saw Jimmy Buffett sail by the dock in his yacht once.

I used to love the concert crowds. Not so much these days.
Lot of bands I'd "like to see," but very few I'd be willing to see with "stadium seating" - or worse "festival seating," which essentially means stand-in-the-crush through warm-up acts, and then finally the headliner. I saw the Rolling Stones in Philadelphia at an outdoor stadium (RFK?) in 1980. Stood for about an hour and a half until George Thorogood came on to do a full show... and then stood for almost an hour until the next show... which was Journey for a full show... another hour standing... and then THE ROLLING STONES. By then, I had stomped, shoved, and dodged close enough that I could have shaken their hand. Hot summer day. No water. No bathroom. And definitely NO SITTING DOWN. I had it in me then. I could maybe still do it, but I know for sure it would not be worth it.

I think I'd like to see Billy Bob Thornton covering Molly Hatchet.

At a small club with chairs to sit in.

And somebody to drive me home.

The all original Led Zeppelin members.
Also Skynrd.
And Johnny Cash back in his heyday.

Chuck

Brooks and Dunn
George Strait
Tina Turner
Eagles
Vince Gill
Patty Loveless
Alan Jackson
Ray Charles
About a squillion others that I can't think of right now.

Bruce Springsteen, The Allman Bros, Lynrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker. I've been to see Clapton, Eagles, Billy Joel, Earl Scruggs Revue. I struggle with the crowd standing up in front of me for the entire show....mostly chicks wanting to show off and maybe get on video.

Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Delbert McClinton, Joe Walsh, Emmylou Harris, the Stones, the Allman Brothers, AC/DC--hell, I could go on and on, and can't afford to see any of them except maybe McClinton. He's played a club here a couple of times.

Among the ones who have checked out, Harrison, Mel Torme with George Shearing (my wife and I spent a magical evening at a concert of just those two and a damn good young bass player), Doc Watson, Orbison, Janis, Hendrix, Zappa, Art Tatum, and many others.

If we're allowed to go back in time, it would have to be The King, before his unfortunate downhill slide.
