Music, who would you see if you could?

Janis Joplin
Jim Croce
The Eagles
Credence Clearwater
Steppenwolf
Hendrix
Pretty much narrows it down for me.
Sorry can't forget Skynrd

Steely Dan (going to see them in concert next weekend)
Jason Mraz (going to see him in August)
Doobie Brothers
Jimi Hendrix
The Beatles (they broke up before I was even born, but I wish I could have seen them)

Live I'd go to see Mick and boys...tomorrow. My wife and I have both been disappointed going to live performances of any of the people from our generation, with exception to Eric Clapton...I would go back to see him again. We go back to see Gordon Lightfoot whenever he comes to town, he's her personal favorite and I've learned to appreciate him over the years, he's a terrific performer and once when the airline he was flying on lost a guitar that Harry Chapin had given him and he got a little more than drunk over the issue he told more stories than sang and had all the real people rolling in the aisle, the pantywaists got up and walked out, but he was truly in fine form.

Eagles again. Only the Hell Freezes over Concert.:)

Several of the groups mentioned above but Eagles can still sing and play:)

I have been quite lucky in the fact that I have seen most of my modern day musical heroes, I would have loved to have seen Frank Zappa, but I have seen Zappa plays Zappa (so the next best thing). I would love to see Tom Waits ( but the older barroom style Waits), would love to have seen the Beastie Boys in their heyday. I am so glad to have seen Parliament/Funkadelic a few times. There are loads of musicians I would love to have seen. I agree with the OP Kris Kristofferson is my Sunday morning guilty pleasure. I think the best performance I have seen to date would be Tommy Emmanuel, even got a picture with the guy and what a talented guy he is...I can truly say I shook the hand of genius :) Ooooo I forgot about my latest musical crush....Abigail Washburn. Hopefully she will tour the UK soon.

Concerts used to be affordable and for some reason, they all smelled of strawberry incense!;)

I saw the Eagles in '73 (The Witchy Woman Tour) For FREE with my student I.D. when I was at Morehead State.

Edgar Winter ('74) with Peter Frampton (Frampton's Camel) in Louisville for $10.

Ted Nugent/Santana/Skynyrd in Cincinnati ('74) for $25. We walked out on Skynyrd - they were drunker than we were, and that's saying something!

I think these days the only ones I would pay today's money to see would be Clapton, Winter, and the like - the true bluesmen.
The rest of the bunch (cough*FleetwoodMac*cough) seem to be milking it for retirement funds.

I'd love to see a lot of people...

Everybody knows I can never pick a favorite, so here goes:

I always like a Jethro Tull concert, especially with his early line-ups, but Martin Barre is always great.

Elton John really knows how to please an audience.

Dire Straits

Deep Purple with Gillan

Original Led Zeppelin

the original Who

Emerson, Lake and Palmer at their highest point. "Come and see the show!"

Yes with Rick Wakeman. I saw them with Patrick Moraz. Good, but he ain't no Wakeman.

Pink Floyd

Bob Dylan I felt like part of history when I saw him last.

The Doors A friend of mine was on his way to Florida to see them when Jim M. got arrested for what the police said was lewd behavior.

The '70s Alice Cooper

Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons (I hear he is lip syncing a lot of songs now.)

Crosby, Stills, Nash and even Young if he just plays.

I'm not and never was a Dead Head. I didn't do dope (after trying it) and they would bore me to death.

I never wanted to see the Beatles in concert. Their records were just too good. I would like to have seen or met them, though.
