Do all the folks commenting about weight realize that the OP is talking about a 1911SC, which has an alloy frame and weighs about 28 ounces, which is about the same as most polymer framed guns?
I bought a 4.75" 1911SC with the bobtailed grip frame and it's a nice carry gun. Recoil is stouter than with a steel-framed 1911, and a little stouter than with a polymer framed gun IMO, possibly because the alloy frame doesn't flex and absorb recoil like a polymer frame. The magazines that came with it were garbage, but it runs 100% with Wilson mags. The only thing I don't like about the gun is how much it cost me
