CORE Build Date 9mm

I'm looking at some 5" M&P Pro CORE's at the moment. All the owners tell me it's 'the latest model'.

However I'd really like to know the exact build date. My location doesn't allow the test fire cartridge first shot so that won't help me.

Is there a way to tell from the serial number? I notice some have the CORE in white, others in black.

Finally has there been any big changes since it's release and build dates I should avoid?

I don't understand the "my location doesn't allow" part but you can also tell from the tag on the box. Underneath the SKU is a 4 digit number, the first digit is the year, the next 3 digits is the day of the year. My core box has the number 3144 which means the 144th day of 2013 which is the 24th of May which matches the test fire date on the envelope with the casing in it. AFAIK all the Core's have the latest stuff in them except the latest mag release lever which isn't a big deal for me because I could care less about reset feel or noise. The ones that have white lettering is an owner "upgrade".

By location it's that I'm in Europe and so far none of them have had a test fire round.

Yes, the newer ones(than mine) have a different numbering system. This was discussed a while back and I don't remember if when it happened was determined.

The one we bought was on a shelf at Elliot Bros for some time and was build 12-20-13. Only had it for a month and dealer ordered it for me. 4.25" core .
