Wow my county got 1 7.62 mm rifle. I forgot there have been more murders in Memphis one day last week than the last 40 year's in my county.

Don't know but I think it said it was 130 - 140 $ guess Tishomingo county is far from being militarized. Geez I didn't expect much, but one rifle? I guess we really are a poor county lol

Interesting. Our county's take included oodles of $6,000 night vision goggles and two $65,000 armored trucks. The county hosts some high profile events, so I can't really complain.

Not sure why Miami-Dade needs BARBER SHEARS and a DENTAL DELIVERY UNIT.

From my reading any government agency can have a swat type team now days. I dislike militarized police units because of the ease of escalating a situation that shouldn't be escalated.(think Waco) . A police mindset should not be a military mindset.

Still trying to figure out why these po dunk departments need MRAPS and other such military hardware.

Laramie County, Wyoming is listed as having 229 (+ or -) M14s. They must have thought the movie "Cowboys and Aliens" was a documentary.

Some authors & journalists call this trend "the rise of the warrior cop".

Police departments are not the same thing as the military.
