Looks similar to mine, very similar.

Congratulations are in order, I know you were hunting for one for a while!

Yours appears to have every option a collector would look for:
Red Ramp front sight
White outline rear sight
Target hammer
Target trigger
Target stocks
Pinned and Recessed

Here is a pic of mine.

These 4" pinned and recessed 629s were only made for a short time, so they are not common, and the cool factor on them is sky high.

Congratulations again!

I have a thing for "no dash" revolvers and to me, the grips are important. Yours have a subtle marbling and an almost satin finish that compliment your gun nicely. If I ever pick up a 629 it will be just like yours.

Good show.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. This 4" gun makes a great addition to my 629 collection. A special thanks needs to go out to Bob1956, without his help this would all be a pipe dream.
Thanks again.

Chris

Tom and Richard,
Beautiful guns you have, I know they are hard to come by. I snagged this no dash as new old stock a couple years ago, I literally cut the tape on the cardboard shipping box.

I've asked before about manufacturing numbers and got nothing. I find it hard to believe that no one has production numbers for the no dash 629's. I mean every registered magnum has been counted down to the last call bead front site.:D These guns are few and far between in the 4" and 8 3/8" length's. I would love to see one of the experts like Doc44 chime in with some facts. Once again, those 4" guns are beautiful, thanks for sharing.

Chris....

If there's a member here who deserves to pick up some of their much sought after guns you're the guy...

Congrats on your excellent find... and welcome to an small club of 629 no-dash owners!

I do have some production numbers and data on the no-dash buried somewhere in my firearm info. If I can find it I'll post it here or e-mail it to you....

Regards

Terry

Terry, please do post it here, as I am very, very interested.

Here ya go, Chris and Tom...

I have another similar list that breaks the numbers down by barrel length. It indicates just how scarce the 4 and 8 3/8" no-dash 629s are but I'm going to have to dig deeper to find it.

Terry

Awesome. I currently have 2 629's. Newer ones and really like them.

So 629 no dash guns are rare and hard to find? Good to know, but a little late, I sold mine a few years ago. :-( The gent loved it and the factory box.

I've got several on that list.:D
This is fantastic information, I do hope you can find the break down of barrel length's. Thank you so much for sharing this. Its members like you that keep me logged in, your an inspiration to us all.
Thank again

I've a relative "beater" 4" to those shown here that I've shot for ten years or more. One of the few N frames which I'll even attempt serious DA work. Have had to weld up the groove in the lower arm of the yolk as the retention screw had worn it oversize. Otherwise it's been pretty good. Usually wears a worn set of Hogways.

Sorry, don't seem to have any good photos of it! Just this older "family snapshot" of small .44s has surfaced so far. (top left):

Hate to say I just stumbled across it in a LGS (not a favorite), but had the sense to snag it. As well a 6", but not an 8 3/8", although those seem to litter the countryside at times. But only when interest is diverted elsewhere...

Ooh! Another photo in the Model 69 album:

Happy you found a nice one!

Here's a quick photo of my no Dash's and a transitional 4" gun. I was thinking they all would be on your list.
629 8 3/8" N 855854
629 4" N 837845
6291 4" N 872196, this gun is pinned but not recessed and the frame is marked 6291 with no dash in between.
Has you can see, some are and some aren't on it.
I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your documents, if you find the time.
Thanks
