.22 ammo

Saw a post awhile back that said that .22 ammo availability was back, so I thought I would post my findings.

I ordered 500 rounds of CCI .22LR Mini-Mag 40Gr. ammo on 3/31/14 from Cabelas (cost $37 delievered). It was backordered. I received it yesterday! I have seen the same stuff for $25/100 at gun shows.

I have had 2 orders with Midway on backorder since 12/2013!! Hart for me to believe that Midway has not gotten what I ordered in since December, of course they may have had a billion backorders.:rolleyes:

I think CCI are hard to find anywhere, I know my local shops haven't had any in over a year, they have had plenty of Win, Fed and Rem, but no CCI.
 
Strange that they don't necessarily fill back orders first. I ordered 2 bricks of CCI Mini Mags from Cabela's just last March and received them within a week or so. The 40gr solids were $37.95 and the 36gr HP's were $39.95 + S&H.

Count me as one of those "billion." I too placed a backorder with Midway in December 2013 for CCI Mini-Mags. I've received two emails from Midway since then advising that they are still on backorder, with no expected ship date listed. I'm still waiting. Any bets on whether we'll see a shipment before December of THIS year?
 
I just walked into Sportman's Warehouse today and they had 8 bricks on the shelf and many boxes of 100 and 50, all CCI. They only would allow one brick per customer per day, but I at least got a brick or 3 boxes of the others. I have not seen any for now 6 years on the shelves. Most stores laugh at me for asking!
 
All of the LGS have large quantities of .22. Worse case scenario is CCI mini mags for 9.99 per 100. The drought is over
 
I see your thread is about CCI 22. I had federal and Remington ordered through Midway on backorders. Is anyone receiving their orders from last year on anything 22LR? If so, how far out were they? Hopefully Curious!
 
Locally, I have found a lot of bricks of ammo and I am not buying any more.
We have the federal 325 round packs for 18.00. Federal 500 round boxes for 24.99.
I think the panic buying is going away. The profit is getting slimmer for the local resellers who have bought most of the ammo around here.
But still, you go to Cabelas or any of the big box stores, and the ammo goes pretty fast, and it is still not cheap.
The CCI is another story, not much around here.
 
Walmart tested the water is early October with an advertised sale of .22 ammo, limit 3 boxes per customer.

On Black Friday, Walmart will release a large quantity of .22 ammo as a lead in item. Pace yourself, and prepare for unprecedented event. When you see it in the flyers...remember you read it here first

I actually canceled 2 orders with Midway earlier this month that had been placed LAST YEAR!!

I was able to go to a few Walmarts each day, for the two day sale that RussellD was talking about, and get enough rounds of CCI Mini Mag and Standard velocity to allow me to cancel my Midway orders.
 
Put yourself on Product Notification on Midway. But when you get the email notification that the ammo is in stock, buy it right away. It sells out fast. What does irk me is that many of their notifications are sent at 3am. What's that about? But I have lots of CCI. I own much of it at 10 cents a round, but it is what it is.

I rarely see it in stores, and even then there are always limits. Today I bought 100 rounds of CCI Quiet at Academy Sports. 2 box limit. $2.99 per 50 plus tax .
 
walked into cabellas yesterday and could buy 100 rounds of stingers or stndard velocity. Went back today with my son. They had standard velocity and 22 longs. We each got 100 standard velocity.

Winter is coming, sporter rifle starts next month.

You must have better luck with Midway then I do. Once I was on the computer on their site looking at other things, and the notiification came through. I clicked on it and it's was sold out.:rolleyes: But I can sure get bombarded with emails all day and everyday hawking everything else. I have given up with Midway. Their notifications for me are worthless. Everything is always sold out when I click on them. I signed into the site the other day and removed the remaining notifications I had listed the other day rather then keep get aggravated when I get them. :)

Eeeerrrr what is 22lr, haven't seen any of them critters for 2 years on the store shelves. Hurrrump next thing ya know they will be saying they have seen the elusive pistol powder for a fair deal. Lol lol
