My favorite's my '09 standard model Toyota Tacoma 4wd, 4 cylinder with a 5 speed manual transmission. It's got manual windows and door locks. It's made in America, has everything we need and doesn't have a bunch of extra do-dads that we don't need. The only thing is that it has a little dial on the dash to switch it into 4wd, I'd rather have a proper transfer case shift lever.

This is an impossibly skewed poll. The Ford F series is the second best selling vehicle of all time. Even though many will vote for something else, the F-150 will get the most votes if only by default.

That's ok.

The Ford Ranger once held the title of the best selling mid-size truck in America. How'd that work out? :D

This was my daily ride for 18 years.

1995 Ford F-477 Super Duty.
14,000 lbs of pure work. You couldn't even begin to believe what this thing has been through.
I retired and now she's got a new driver, but its still out there working every single day. :D

This is pretty close to my ride. mines an '03 regular cab, 4 cyl, 4x4, auto trans, with manual windows and locks. First auto trans I've had and I have to admit I kinda like it. Mine does have the transfer case shift lever but it doesn't have manual hubs which I wish it did!

I do have to admit I am biased, I've been parts manager for a Toyota dealer for 27 years.

My first pickup after graduating from H.S. 1970 was a 1956 GMC step side., with a cool straight six and floor foot start, would like to have that one back.

No. 2 was a used 1968 Chevy short bed fleet side with a six banger and A.C. and stick shift in 1972. AC was really nice in Phoenix,AZ. but managed to tear up the little chevy.

No.3 and 4. were new 1975 and '77 Ford Ranchero's, cool car/trucks with big tires and Mag wheels, but not much of a work truck.

No. 5 and 6 were new 1981 and '87 F 250's regular cabs with automatic trans and 460 gas hogs and did the hard work.

N0.7 was a 1993 Ford F 350 4 door crew cab, long bed, stick shift, 460 gas.
Good truck for heavy work and T boned a red light runner in a Malibu, No contest ,but needed new hood, bumper, radiator and paint job.

No.8 and first and only diesel new 2003 F 350 SRW, 4X4, club cab, 7.3L, with all kinds of aftermarket horsepower. first 100K miles were pleasure but second 100K miles were with many repairs.

No.9 and current is a 2009 F 250 4X4, club cab, long bed,5.3L gas with a 130,000 miles.

Next one might be a Ford Raptor in a year or so .

Voted Ford.

thanks for bring back the memories, some good some bad.

"Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public." Mencken.

Seriously I beat the hay out my '84 with the 300 in-line. I loved that truck for years.

That being said I'm looking for a couple year old Tacoma. Seems to suit me better than the behemoths the Big 3 are producing these days.

94 f150 lightning 421000 and counting.

I sold Toyota Parts for 17 years, starting in '83.

I asked a co-worker about trucks when I first came to the US. His response was, "If you want a truck that is nice inside and gets half decent mileage, buy a Chevy. If want one that never breaks, buy a Ford".

After 17 years here I've never owned a pickup so I don't have a dog in this fight.

I heard it said if you want a car with a pickup box, get a Chevy. If you want a pickup truck, get a Ford.

But I love the comment about crossing a pickup with a tractor!

2014 D-150

I just bought a new Dodge Ram for $21,000! 396 horse 4/8 Hemi V-8, 6 speed auto and 20" wheels. Fully equipped. Makes 18 mpg on regular unleaded and runs like a banshee! Good ride!
Dick
I've since added a bed liner and running boards.

I've owned three trucks, all Dodge Dakotas. I hit a tree dead center somewhere between 40 and 55 mph in my first Dakota (no airbags). The front end of the truck was U shaped and the headlights were still shining although they were shining at each other. The cab did not deform and I walked away with just a cut on my hand where it hit the keys. I have a good reason for staying with Dodge/Ram!

First Ford pickup I had was a '29 Model A. Kept getting Ford pickups since 1954. Think I've had 11 thru the years & one Chevy. I worked for the phone company 38 year as a trouble shooter mostly. And have driven most trucks except the foreign ones, the old Fords kept going & going.Put 191,000 on the last one before I retired. Now have a '07 Ford Ranger 4x4.
