Who makes the best hotdogs.

Also,if available where your at? try: Johnsonville Cheddar-cheese flavored. They arent hot dogs per se--but come 6 to a pack-and will pass for hotdogs-are about 5-6 inches long and some of the best I ever had. I usually get these--chop them into 2s and 3 pieces--and take some Croissant triangles--place apiece into it--roll them up and bake for about 15 minutes. These are like sausages in a roll--but MY style. :-)) In fact, im making more of these this weekend.

These are sold at WMs at least in Texas--and HEBs ,Krogers etc.

I like Ballpark dogs myself. The ones with cheddar cheese in them.

In Dirty Harry, he is eating one inside a hotdog stand while watching some black guys who are about to rob a bank located across the street. If I recall? he didnt have Onions and Mustard on that one. ;-))

If you have never eaten a Saugy, you have never eaten a hotdog, nice thick casing that snaps when you bite into it.:)

Saugy Inc.

heh heh, this reminds me of an Three Stooges episode where curly is trying to eat a sandwich that bites his nose. Talk about snap. :D

My mouth is watering. I just added hot dogs to the week's grocery list.

The first time my wife made hot dogs for me she boiled them..........Yechhhhh!

Thereafter I made them by cooking them on the grill. She even said they tasted better. Believe me they couldn't have gotten any worse.

I'm glad she doesn't read this forum and nobody here better rat me out.

Mmmmmmm, grilled..... Once in awhile I grill the Johnsonvilles I buy. Havent grilled in quite awhile so need to dig mine out of hiding.

If you can find them, Mariner Dogs (Supermarkets in the NW, down into Central Cali). Otherwise, Hebrew National.

Whatever, they gotta be all beef!

Only had them once Wranglers original in natural casing. They had that crunch! Beef dogs are now $6 + a pack - soon to be a buck apiece

Where's the Piccalilli?;)

I like Piccalilli made with hot pepper's, on my dog's. :)

I had a hot dog at Greenfield Village in Dearborn that was very tasty. I believe it was Kogel's.

For the ones I can buy locally in Pgh. it would be Ballpark, with cheese if available and Kahn's. Sugardale Coneys are pretty good too but not always available

Nathan's regular size, wrapped in normal thin sliced bacon, smoked for an hour and a half on a my electric smoker, served with Slawsa on a top-sliced coney style bun. For a party, I can fit about 50 of 'em in the smoker and keep 'em in a warmer to serve. Kroger sells Slawsa around here in S. il, I think it's made in N. Carolina, I like the spicy version.

Best Location in the Nation.....

Hands down...Brookside natural casing hot dogs are the best I have eaten. Made in Cleveland, Ohio. I always take them to our S&W Northeast Ohio "Bunch" meetings...they do not last long!

By far one of the best hot dogs out there. "Brookside
natural casing hot dogs" (beef/pork). They don't get any
better. I always bring back 10lb to Florida for the winter
and treat them like gold!

Agree with the Zweigle's part, but only from Wegmans. I'm a displaced Western New Yorker who get supplied from friends and family on road trips or shipped.

How the heck does a Western NY'er NOT mention Thumman's?

My buddy brought a couple cases back from NYC, and I've raved about them ever since....

Thumann's - The Deli Best Hot Dogs

However, I must confess that I'm not all THAT particular. I fiend over Mexican style dogs her in Phoenix, and I am sure the brand is something low-rent to keep the profits up, LOL. Vienna Beef, Chi-style on poppy-seed, sure. Cut and grilled over charcoal, oh yeah. Browned in a pan with oil, ..nice.

Kudos to Ball Parks latest 'Park's Finest' flavors, which I find a very satisfying dog.

Any good quality dog cooked on a char-wood mixed fire. That hardwood fire makes any dog taste freaking awesome. Saberettes are hard to beat.
There made in New Jersey and sold by the street venders in NYC.
Having a good yellow mustard is good too with a good pepper relish.
