Powders for the 40 S/W

I do NOT like to admit to loading .40 SW with Titegroup but I agree with the above in that I do it in very light recoiling loads. They are pretty much the bottom of the load data that I ran enough through to ensure they are reliable. Those are now my plinking fun loads while the Longshot loads are my serious bring the thunder in .40's for serious loads. I load them all on a Pro Auto so there is no way I can double charge since the Classic Turret indexes to the next die on the down stroke.

Favorite powder for 40 S&W using 155 and 165 grain bullets is Winchester Super Field WSF. I've also tested Power Pistol and Unique and they both work well. Didn't like AA#5 in my tests.

Again, depends on what you are reloading for. Faster powders work better in low pressure/low vel/low recoil loads, like below midrange vel with any bullet wt. Agree, above midrange to full power, I much prefer med- med slow burners like WSF, Unique, PP, AA#7, HS6, LS.
Thanks for the advice.
