Only a few days away from the annual SHOT Show, where all the manufacturers release their new models for the year.

S&W always puts out a couple of new guns both from the standard catalog and the Performance Center.

Any predictions what this year could/should bring?

S&W's financial documents note "strong sales of small concealed carry polymer pistols and revolvers", so maybe the will add something new-small.

Hoping for a new Performance Center snub .500 to go with the .460 from last year.

To ease unwarranted concerns about lock malfunctions, S&W will introduce a new lock inside the old lock; you'll lock the new lock when you want to keep the old lock from locking, and unlock the new lock when you want to lock the old lock.

:D That'll fix'em! :D

I'd love to see a 2" model 12 but know better.

Model 547 - 9mm, no moon clips, and in a 4.2" barrel would be nice. I'm wondering if the market in the U.S for a 4.2 (Canadian legal) is significant enough to warrant production. Are the 686 and the SP101 in 4.2 sold in the U.S. or do they just come to Canada?

From the 'likely' column:
New Model 66s and 69s in different barrel lengths. I'd put money on 2.5" and 3" for the 66 and 3" and 6" for the 69.

From the 'never going to happen' column:
New production 3rd Generation automatics with the integrated accessory rail on the dust cover. I'll take a 5943 TSW please!

Glock will announce that it will purchase Colt, drop it's entire polymer pistol lineup and reintroduce the classic Colt revolver line.

I've actually thought it would be nice if a really "in" outfit like
Glock did purchase Colt and run some of the revolvers as a "boutique" line.

Of course, it might turn out that the Python would be produced in plastic!
