Since last Thursday I've been feeling ill. I thought it was just that bug going around. This morning I couldn't even stand up and get ready for work. Terrible intestinal cramps. Went to the ER and turns out I've got diverticulitis.

Down time and I don't play well together, so I got scared when the doc said I can't work for at least a week. He did not, however, forbid me from dallying in the shop. Thank goodness for reloading. At least I'll be able to keep my hands and my thinking cap busy till the cramping subsides. It was so painful I thought I was a goner for sure.

I enjoy it myself. Always looking for time where I can go play in my reloading room. Shooting and reloading a lot of pistol with a single stage press leaves me with something to do most any time I get the chance.

You've been reloading.....

Yeah, Take care of your self. Reloading is an excellent hobby. Been doing it since 1954. Guess that sort of dates me as old fart which I'm accustomed to. My 30-30 is semi retired but a 308 has taken it's place.

You can literally say that you were reloading before I was born, only a year, but still.

One thing I like about reloading is I do everything in batches. I can be working of a batch, drop it if interrupted, and pick right back up where I left off.

PS: To the OP. Get over that diverticulitis quick. Make sure that it doesn't get completely well in a week so you can spend more time on the bench.:D

I hope you feel better soon. Yep, at least you can spend some quality time at the reloading bench...

Arch I'm also finding it's good for early morning ensomnia. I do a lot of woodworking, but firing up the table saw or a sander at 2:30am seems to irritate my fiancée. I had an upper back surgery about 15 years ago that laid me up for 5 months. I couldn't even make a birdhouse. Psychologically I really struggled with my physical limitations. I like reading but doing is something I need too.

I'm glad I got the chance to get back into it a few years ago.

I have been down the road of acute abdominal pain (celiac). I know the misery you are going through. My best wishes for a rapid and complete recovery.

Kind of hate that feeling of a knife being stuck in your gut do you. At least that's what my attacks feel like. If you already don't know, avoid peanuts, they aggravate the condition.

Just awful beyond words sir. Mashed taters and applesauce for awhile and then a more careful selection for sure.

My girlfriend has already put in a request for some light target loads for the .45 and my 66...getting out the trail boss:P.

Hope you're feeling better soon. About 8 years ago I thought I was having flu like symptoms and didn't bother with the doctor. 4 days later, I was being rushed to the ER to find out I had severe case of diverticulitis and some of the abscesses had burst and I was going toxic.

For the next couple years after that, it took several surgeries and 3 different colostomy bags to get it all under control.

I agree with everyone else...get diet under control, rest and do what the doctors tell you.
