I posted several weeks ago that I was moving from CA to the Land of Freedom.
I've received a few PM's to post an update and some photos.

I arrived Dec 29 with sub zero temps of -4 with highs of 11.
Had snow, but nothing like you veterans in the NE.

Since then, the temps have increase from the storms that hit the West coast to 35-61 degrees. All the snow has melted.

The road to home, which sets at the base of these mountain of the Continental Divide. I absolutely love it here.

This was taken 2 days ago. All snow is gone.

The "Shop". My favorite place.

A few bucks on my property, about a week ago. Still wearing their headgear.

11.5 acres, with views of the Bitteroot Mountains of the Continental Divide 5 miles north as the crow flies.

Very impressive!

I would consider such a move, at the right time in my life, if I didn't have to worry about my wife killing me in my sleep! To be absolutely honest about it, she would kill me while I was wide awake but, I might have a fighting chance.

Beautiful senery!

Moved to a nice five acre property after retiring. Nice big house and 28 x 28 pole building. I set up my own private range. No neighbors to deal with. Problem; wife hated it. Didn't like the "bleak" views, wanted to be closer to civilization. Sold after seven years and moved back to civilization. Oh well.

Your place is beautiful.

What a beautiful home in a gorgeous area, with lots of freedom to boot.

Perfect setup, really happy for you, and wish you the very best.

What a layout, can't help it.;)

Think I'll shed a few tears and have another cup of coffee.:(

Absolutely AWESOME!

I see lots of us here love you like a long lost brother. It was nice to put your address in. That way us cousin Eddy's can sneak in with the old Winnabago. :)

For the folks who live in the Calikstan or NYkstan or Masastan's. America is different. Walk outside and take a deep breath. One smells the clean fresh air of freedom.

I retired to 160 acres in Ks, farmed for a couple of years. My 68 year old bod wasn't keeping up. We sold it and bought 80 acres further north in Ks. We are on the Santa Fe Trail.

A few farmers, cows and deer are our neighbors. All have been by for a visit. My home state MO was great, same here in KS. Walk into an LGS, put your money down, pass the fed test and walk out with your prize.

I am now so far out in the boonies that stone fences are still in place. Our only and closest neighbor's family has owned their farm since 1860.

Idaho, it is a place I too desired, but alas, my wife owns guns and can shoot. One sleeps better with both eyes closed.

You have a beautiful place and I hope you enjoy it to the fullest.

Now if we can get snubbyfan to find the link to "Home on the Range" all of us can get the feeling of that breath of fresh free air and beautiful scenery.

Congratulations on your escape and your beautiful home.

I only have one question. Where is the closest WalMart.:)

BLM

Missoula MT. 140 miles :p Costco, Walmart, and everything I want to be away from.
The town of Salmon is 4 miles south of Carmen and has most everything I'll need. I'll support the local economy, thank you.
