I've had the top one (15-2 in .357) for a while now and enjoyed shooting it so much that I picked up another in .44 last week. Can't wait to get it out to the range!

These guns seem very overlooked in the market. Extremely accurate and seems build quality seems superb for the money.

Anyone else on here have a Dan?

I have 3 in 41 Magnum, 3 in 357 SuperMag and a 22.

I have been shooting DWs for 25+years.

The only one I have photographed is the oldest 41 Magnum in upper left of this old family photo of 41 Magnums

I was planning on it with their new 715 supposedly coming out. I can still hear the crickets chirping.

Nice looking DWs in here guys thanks for sharing. colt_saa that's a really nice collection you have there.

I always wanted an original Monson Dan Wesson Arms .357 Magnum Revolver (ideally a whole Pistol Pac!). It is one of the great failings of my life that I never got one. Life's crazy unexpected circumstances intervened, crushed me financially and ended my late-70's/early-80's shooting & handgun collecting hobby dead in its tracks for decades before I could ever get my hands on one. :(

Lately, I have kept my eyes open, but I never seem to find an original Monson one for sale that's in really nice collectible shape. If I find one at all, it is a later Palmer gun and/or simply not in good enough condition to justify the high asking price. :o

Who knows? It might still happen someday but I've given up holding my breath.

Always loved Dan Wesson revolvers.Their bluing always outshined the Smith & Wessons in the gun store case.I rember back in the day these guns always selling for a couple hundred more then the Smith N frames were. The ability to change barrels and adjust the BC gap was a great option.Great screen presence as well.Chuck Norris Code of silence,TJ Hooker, and how could anyone forgett Lady Blue Katy Mahoney.

My .357 Super Mag is the only gun I own that has caused the range officer to call a stop to shooting, just so he could see what was causing dust to fall from the rafters. :)

About 10 years ago I picked up a .22LR Pistol Pack.
Four barrels, 8", 6", 4", and 2". Two grips. Tools, extra sights. Case with key. Belt buckle. Jacket patch. Near perfect condition.
I don't remember what I paid for it, but I'm a cheapskate, soooo . . ..

I've been keeping a casual eye out for a .357 PP, now.
I'm not a collector nor do I have ANY expertise. I have read that there a some, possibly a series or serial number range, that are problems.

I'd sure like some "take it to the bank" info on that.

Regarding the 357 SuperMag, colt saa, how do you get ammo? I reload a lot, so if there's a useable shell, I can make the stuff.
One wag on the internet said: "Maybe you should just wait until the .357 Super Duper Amazing Maximum Magnum ammo comes out and get a gun for that? :neener:"

Prices seem low, something I think I remember about the .22 Pistol Pack. I saw a "41", 357 SuperMag in the internet for $440 today. Tempting, but it comes with two 8" barrels, and I'd want at least one of 6" or shorter.

I really don't want a difficult-to-get caliber, especially if I have to get some dies for the press. Probably best for me to stick to the .357 Magnum.

.357 Maximum (or Supermag) is not that uncommon... having just said that, but both Midway & Graff are showing it out of stock. Starline shows the 360 brass in stock (tweener cartridge)

Just remembered I had this.

I see your frame has "plumed" as we DW people say. Great gun, I'd never forget that one!

I bought my first Dan Wesson .357 Magnum Model 15-2 6V the day I turned 21 40 years ago. When the Model 40 .357 Super Mag came out my wife bought me one for Christmas! It's a 10 VH. I also had a Model 40 .44 Magnum 8VH but due to an unexpected financial situation I had to sell it. All my DW's are the most accurate handguns except for my T/C Contenders I have ever fired. All my guns were made in Monson, MA.

Wouldn't that be "plummed"? :D

I, too, have come across more than a few Dan Wesson revolvers with various shades of plum coloring on the frame. Can you explain to me why that happens?

An anecdote about the DW:

My now departed father, years ago, lost sight in his right eye. He still wanted to deer hunt but he could no longer use a scope. He had bought a DW Model 15, and poking around in a pawn shop one day he found a 15" DW barrel. He bought it, brought it home, and we mounted it to the 15 frame and put a red dot sight on it.

After working up handloaded hard cast 158s, we went to the TX hill country late December. Dad was sitting in his tripod one evening when a 7-point showed up under the feeder, which was situated at about 85 yards away and slightly downhill. The buck was looking at him, and Dad took the shot. He told me the buck fell like an anvil had dropped on him.

Later that evening, when I cleaned the deer I figured out why: the bullet had entered the white throat patch and broken the buck's neck, exited the neck and re-entered just forward of the ribs on the right side. It completely severed the entire rack of ribs from the spine on the right side, and stopped in the right ham.

I now have the revolver, and although I never clocked the loads, I have to believe what Dad was shooting was somewhere around the ballistic equivalent of a 150-grain 30-30 load.
