Anyone have and use one of these knives? I got a very good price on one and have it in my bugout bag. It seems very...robust, but also a bit uncomfortable to hold. It's made of 440C stainless, but I don't know whether to get a carbon steel knife.

Can anyone give me a short review of the knife from the field?

Thanks!

I can't help much with this knife but if it's uncomfortable to hold I wouldn't want it.

If you want a HD fixed blade knife look into the KA-BAR Kraton G® Handled Mark I, Serrated

It's a pleasure to hold and operate, light weight, 1095 Cro-Van steel and made in USA. I bought one for my wife before she was deploying and I like it so much I'll get another one for myself :)

I do however have a S&W Homeland Security folding knife which I really like but don't use. It's in my safe and I'm not sure if I should use it. It's more on the heavy side of a knife but very comfortable and it seems well made.

I still like the Homeland Security as it will last forever and is indestructible. It's easy to sharpen, too. But I also have the Ka-Bar Large Heavy Bowie, which is a great survival knife, and an Ontario Marine Raider, also indestructible. For self defense, I have a Cold Steel Warhead and now I'm going to get a Shanghi Warrior. They're just like the Shanghi Shadow, only longer, meaner and more intimidating.
