Guys I'm sure there is another thread but I'm a new member and really don't navigate well yet. Anyway I have a 66 no dash that I picked up a few years ago. I rally enjoy it and it has cleaned up well. My question is , I really need to ditch these pachmyer grips for some factory or nice looking targets. Looking for suggestions and pictures, links etc. Thanks in advance. BTW it is a square but under that rubber grip.

Nice 65 thanks for chiming in, also looking for people's opinions or suggestions on what others would put on it. I think I want the factory targets like what are on yours but people with more years under them may make a suggestion that I have not thought of.

Whatever I put on I want to enjoy and also enhance the value if possible.

Nice looking stocks, i really appreciate all the suggestions and pictures. Can anyone give me a ballpark on production date?9K6800 66 no dash

I have never used a set of combats, are they comfortable to use? Slippery?

Slippery no.....It is all in fit for me.
My son loves combats....I'm a smooth target guy
With my grip Targets align my trigger finger best.
for some it is magnas.
I can deal with magnas and a grip adapter but it takes more effort on my part for precise shooting.

Lots of choices out there

This is the round butt magna with the grip adapter that weatherby mentioned. Square butt Altamonts with an adapter will get you there. I like the look of the old days and for me they work well. Ahrends from Gripseller:cool: on Ebay are good too, and you get to see the grip before you order. Theo:)

Thank you guys so much for the help and information. Glad to be apart of this forum.

If you come up with some targets make sure they have the football cutout on the left side. They are correct for a 66 no dash. The 1976 no dash has the Goodyears, with the blackened sights and the red insert on the front post. It's the shooter and I think the Pachs are more comfortable. The 1972 has the original targets with the football cutout and the desirable but lousy stainless sights.

Check out Hogue and Ahern's websites........lots of good options for carry and shooting...... and good turnaround time ............

I like Spegel's Boot grips for carrying and shooting...... but IIRC he's not taking orders right now......

The Combats pictured above never "fit" my hand ..... with Hogue's I get the single finger groove model.

Thanks again guys for sharing the info. Glad to have some knowledgeable folks helping out!

Also look for Kuracs (Culina grips). They're a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. There are a couple of threads on this forum devoted to photos of them, so if you search one you can browse. John is a member of this forum under the name Kurac.
