This was a short news item this morning. It showed a quick video of the shotgun and they claimed it was worth as much as $95,000. The MSRP for the gun is actually around $8,000 which is still a chunk of change. They did not say what his intentions were but he did manage to knock one police officer unconscious while they were trying to subdue him. Here is a link to the story.

A Diamond Pigeon Beretta? Yeah, maybe a $3K gun when new. Now if it were one of the SOx series, that would bring a lot more.

Then again, this guy probably needed arresting anyway:

It is interesting if you look at most of the gun massacre perps mug shots that they all seem to have the same facial expression. You have to wonder if it is drug related or a gene or chromosome issue.

I wonder if their blood or DNA has ever been checked for abnormalities or similarities?

I'd bet a dollar that the similar facial expressions most likely could be attributed to the cocktail of meds that were prescribed to them as children. Just to fix all the problems.

I don't think we have a gun problem, I think we have a mental illness problem and the drugs used to treat them. All mass shooters seem to have one common thing, that being the use of these drugs.

Not to thread jack here, but what part of the bay are you from EQGuy? Ie east, south, north or peninsula? I grew up watching ktvu and am from Dublin. Small world, eh?

The eyes are the window into the Soul, as they say. Most Coo Coo's look exactly like Coo Coo's. Just my observation's.

I grew up in the east bay outside Fairfield and now live in the south bay in Sunnyvale. I grew up roaming the orchards of Suisun Valley and am now stuck in the city. I am only 5 miles from excellent medical care now which at this time in my life is important.

Well, it IS.....

Well, it IS in CA. That could explain part of it.

MAYBE they stopped a nut in his tracks. I don't know why anybody would assemble a shotgun out on the streets. I usually keep my guns very discreet. I'd like to hear the resolution to this story but most likely the news value is used up and we'll never hear what happened.

I have often wondered, though. Several times in the past I've had the occasion to check out a gun in somebodies. trunk. I unload it, clear it and don't point it at anybody which sometimes means the gun is visible. I'm not sure what they would do nowadays. Saying I was 'brandishing' a gun?
