How safe do you feel anywhere now?

I carry most all the time now even when I'm in my house. I didn't used to as when I was still working I couldn't on my job and often wouldn't when not working. I didn't carry in my house then either but did have house guns.
I don't know the danger is so much greater now but my ability to deal with it is less now. I'm older, disabled and can't fight my way out of a situation or even run away from one anymore. I don't want to be a victim either and will try and prevent that in any way I can.

I hate gas stations. There are always drug dealers and the like around, and I've seen a lot of people looking for trouble and panhandling, in the day as well as night. Other than that, I don't worry too much. I try to stay out of places that are prone to that sort of thing, but nowadays, you never know.

There was a study done that gas stations nation wide is a chance of getting. Jacked or worse.I don't leave house with out something. But that's. Been a rule for years.

Situational awareness is a concept to live by. Literally.
Risk cannot be eliminated, but rather be prepared for, and managed.
Be prepared, and equipped to manage one's life.

Hell no, just got back home from the VA Clinic in Columbus Ohio. Can't carry anything, no guns, knives or chains. It is the only time I don't carry but want to, with the state of affairs in the country.

The internet is a nice, safe place to hassle people. Heaven knows, if one was to insult, annoy and brag (without ever posting a picture) at an internet site, a fellow might come to a suspicion that the only thing a poster had to offer was fluff... but it's safe. There in moms basement, secure.... Scanning the web for arguments, but never stepping out into the light of day, never sharing the interest in S&W ownership or collecting....
Why would anyone like that be here? Simple, because they're terrified of the real world.

There's a lot of scary stuff out there, whether the media talks about it, or, in many cases, covers it up.

But can you give any specific links, and statistics to back up the allegations?
Yes. FBI website. Check it out. Crime is on the downtrend. Go ahead tex, if you think youre "calling me out" have at it. I dont only hang out in this part of the forum. Sorry if my opinions dont agree with yours, thats no reason to state that I live in my moms basement. I could denigrate you in many ways but I havent thanks for being mature.

I may be living in a world of my own. I feel quite safe where I live, probably until the first nutcase attacks someone here. I do have a carry permit but don't really feel it's that necessary to carry everywhere.

I've had a cc permit for 37 years ..... convenient...but not necessary......

until my 1st house was broken into 28 years ago........ and

then one of the mass shooters; Richard Baumhammers ......who shot 6 people killing 5 in 2000....... graduated from my high school ...........and was living in my hometown when he went off the deep end........

don't feel "unsafe" ; is that even a word, but I feel safer with a 3913.

It is... except where it isn't, like in the general vicinity of that dope in Virginia the other day.

My anti-homicidal dope force field is busted, and the local cops don't have TARDISes that would allow them to keep doing it over and over until they can "protect" me.

That being the case, the ONLY person who's going to protect me is ME. Since telling a bloodthirsty imbecile, "No fair, this is a 'safe' neighborhood!" is likely to be ineffective, I'm going to go with carrying a loaded firearm everywhere it's lawful for me to so.

Although I live in a relatively peaceful part of the world and I know the odds are in my favor, I still cc every day. While situational awareness is key to avoiding trouble, it doesn't make anyone immune to circumstances beyond their control.

Yup. But overall it is, im dispelling the myth based on actual stats that its TEOWAKI and all that nonsense that the media perpetuates.

I know I dont feel entirely safe in my neighborhood with some neighbors, I also cc.

I know it's RELATIVELY unlikely that I'll need to defend myself in Rocky River, Ohio (although I was threatened by an ignoramus a few weeks ago... over laundry), but I MUCH prefer the possibility of my saying, "Glad I had a gun!" rather than "Things are getting dark, must be blood loss..."

As we've recently been reminded no public place is 100% safe and sometimes all the weapons & situational awareness in the world aren't gonna help.

Back in the day I used to go places in the 'hood I wouldn't think of today. Even back then I'd get the occasional stinkeye but the BBQ was SO worth it... ;)

Next year I will travel through three South American countries. If I were armed, I would be in constant awareness of what it would be like for an American to be in jail there. I won't even take a leatherman but will enjoy my trip. My CCW will not protect me from a bomb, crash or many other ways to die. I acknowledge that and live my live.
