[/ATTACH] and I've already been offered $1000. I really thought I wanted an L frame carry but found out I'm just a K frame kind of guy. I understand this was a limited run of 2500 but this seems to be a good price for a quick turn over.
Open the cylinder. Does it say "CS-1" on the frame next to the model number?

View attachment 208014 I've got nice Kframes. I just don't care that much for the 686 and was asking if I should let it go for the $1000 offer or hold on to it.
Sometimes you have to ignore books on certain models especially the blue book on gun values like the one at the range I shoot at. I would turn to specialists like jbrewst1 when it comes to rare production models.686-4 special edition

The SCoSW is an indispensable resource, I sleep with one under my pillow, and though we call it "the bible" it's not infallible.
I was speaking in general terms & really about exceptions. I should get one of those sw I forgot the rest of the initials books. Could you suggest how I go about it?
Thanks Jim for the heads up on the new edition coming out in December. I need an instant reference instead of having to ask questions here.
