:mad: Recently I made the mistake of buying a can of Teriyaki Spam. Last night, I opened it and decided to try some. (Spits) NEVER again. That stuff was as bad as canned tamales, and I AIN'T ever consuming those again. I'll eat bark, worms, glass or whatever, before I ever eat those again even if I were starving to death.

Anyway, just a warning Will Robinson, DONT eat Teriyaki flavored Spam, its nasty as rotten swill and you will have to eat a raw habanero pepper to kill its taste.

Ringo, where do you find this stuff?
I'm going down to the nearby Smiths Supermarket and say to the manager, who I know,
'Ringo sent me.'
I want to see that limited access back room where they keep all this stuff.

Funny stuff.

"Spicey Hot"

tried the "spicey hot" spam ...ONCE....never again...will stick to regular...as others.... fried crisp on edges...with cheddar...the "bacon" and "smoked" are not bad....but here is one for ya ifin ya didnt know....spam makes a great source for fire...like solid rocket fuel...try it...the flames will shoot out sideways....:D

I can get in and out of a grocery store quickly unless I stand and stare at the selection of canned meats. Good sense usually prevails, I'll grab some sardines or smoked oysters and beat feet before I give in to the "try it you'll like it" urge.

Now is this the canned Spam or the new Dried Spam Snacks?

Nobody would take me up on my Karma of a dollar off coupon for the dried Spam snacks, so I was going to use the coupon myself, if the snacks would cost me a dollar or less.

None of the fine grocers I frequent seems to stock dried Spam Snacks. Canned tamales, the kind with paper wrappers! They still make those?:eek: :eek:

I'm sure it sounded like it would be good but then again when I think about all of the different flavored potato chips or Mountain Dew that I've tried over the years... :(

Someone in their marketing department is laughing their butt off knowing that we'll try anything at least once.

Thanks for the headsup !!

I was suffered to eat all the Spam I cared to while in the Army. If I had to choose between Spam and starvation, I'd have to give the matter serious thought.

Lookahere...You opened a can of Spam, surely you weren't expecting an epicurean delight. You had to know what you were getting yourself in for. I asked my wife to pick up a can of Spam because I like it fried with taters and eggs about once in a blue moon. She picked up a can of reduced salt Spam and I knew I was in trouble from the get-go. I had a buddy that used to eat Spam sandwiches at least once a week, on purpose. He also used to eat it with about a quarter inch slice of onion.
By the way canned tamales used to be something I looked forward to back when I didn't have much money. I used to boil the tamales right in the can, like I did in the military with C-Rats, then pour the whole enchilada on boiled rice, peel the paper off the tamales and mix the whole thing up...Yumm.

I love Spam Lite, and Pepper Spam is good. I try to eat some fixed different ways at least once a week. Thanks for the warning on the teriyaki spam. I will avoid it. Canned tamales are better than canned chili. Thankfully here in So. Texas real tamales of all flavors are plentiful and yum yum. So is Tex-Mex food. I don't know how folks in the NE survive without good Tex-Mex but somehow they do.
