Here's pic of "Teddy" our third & last Smooth Fox Terrier last Christmas.
Unfortunately, we lost him in late summer.
Geeze look at that smart face, that had to be a heckofa hit, I'm so sorry! Man, price of a dogs love and all, right?...
Spud is a fox that used to follow me around at work. One day I was walking through the tank yard and called out "Yo Spud" and she came running so I figured that must be her name.

My wife's shadow. Actually she worked as a therapy dog for the last two years my wife taught public school. She would come home so stressed by the administration and or parents that she would grab a spot on the couch and Cricket would crawl up next to her and after half an hour or so, life could resume.

My wife has three years to go, and our dogs already perform this useful service! Now if I could only find a way the could go to school with her......

Gorgeous dog and really beautiful work by your wife. Seriously, that's work I'd be proud to hang on my wall.
I'm really curious...what medium did your wife use to paint this portrait, and what material is it painted on?
The more I look at it, the more I like it. I'll bet it's really impressive in person. Heirloom quality work, without a doubt.

Thank you very much! It is painted with acrylic paint on a linen canvas board. And yes, it hangs proudly on my wall!

I was going to guess acrylics because of the almost photo-realistic look, but the "softness" of the work fooled me, so I wasn't sure. Again, compliments on your wife's work.

After 20 years of owning Pitbulls I downsized. Here are my two. My 7 year old Taco dog Halle Peeno.
And my one year old part time French Bulldog part time clown Hedley.
And my one year old part time French Bulldog part time clown Hedley.

I used to coon hunt back in my lots younger days. It's a headlong activity, that's for sure. We never did the thing of shooting the coon in the butt with a .22 to get him down so the dogs could have him, though. It was enough for us to listen to the dogs trail and tree. We ran mostly Redbones and Black & Tans, with the occasional Bluetick.
They all made beautiful music in the dead of night. Cool photos! They were sure after him, weren't they? I still have a fondness for a well set up coon hound, no matter what the breed.
There's a little town up in the mountains here. Saluda, North Carolina. Every year they have Coon Dog Day! The population of the town increases by thousands.
