Post them dogs up!

This is Brody; rescued from a "high kill" shelter in San Antonio this past April. He still doesn't know what to think of MN winters, but he is adapting. This is his favorite "post" to watch for dangerous squirrels, rabbits, & BG's. He has caught 1 chipmunk & 2 field mice that we know of. Not bad for a city dog. ;)

Chessies are great dogs. They have those beautifully intense eyes and those wonderfully thick coats. I bet they love it up there in winter time. Beautiful dogs.

Thank you..They live to Hunt, and are so loving except when I'm gone..I never worry about my Wife and Son when I have to work nights..We have no use for a doorbell..Lol

I don't know how to post a picture but if you look by my name, you'll see Jack. My best Bud.
He was about 9 months in that pic, taller than me now.

He's a rescue because the AKC doesn't "allow" merles (his coloring) to be shown. The breeder dumped him in a shelter and wouldn't allow her name to be associated with him because it would, I guess, lower the money she could get for her "line".
I think his coloring is great, but I wouldn't care if he had purple polka dots.
He protects me and the house and is laying right beside me now.

Ok, I included one of my two cats, I put peanuts and sun flower seeds on the deck just outside the window, the cats go bonkers when birds, chipmunks and squirrels visit.

Foxy
Pugsly
Baby Bear
Cow Cat

I have found that rescue dogs make great protectors, I think they sense what you did for them. :) But, the reality is...they give us so much more.

Gotta love the black and tan

My protector, best buddy, and friend for life, MAX. He will soon be 10, old in dog years, but still being Max. He's got a limp from a hip surgery that went wrong, it didn't change his personality.

I had a black and tan about the same as your handsome guy. He was a real man eater and in his mind if he didn't accept a stranger into the household in his over protective mind he wasn't going to allow them to enter and I would have to put him in his kennel. I always wondered if I was doing the right thing until at about age 4 he mellowed and realized if it was OK with me he would abide with my decision but still remained ever watchful. Once you own a dog with this type of protective family drive, shepherds in particular the German and Belgium you will never own another breed
