Over 100 million guns in USA...

Yet roughly about 5 million NRA members...

Either every NRA member owns average 20-22 guns or you know what.....

We all know how anti-2nd Amendment crowd and anti-gun community hates NRA because they see that all of their "anti" efforts are ending up going nowhere because of NRA...

Can you imagine what will happen if EVERY gun owner becomes an NRA member?
Even only for 1 year during those "ELECTION YEARS"...

I wish there was huge movement within the pro-gun community toward making every gun owner in the USA to become an NRA member just for the 2016!

No matter what you feel about their political methods doesn't it worth to try just for one year?

After all how many gun owners can't really spare $25 or $35 as an annual expense?

I can't imagine the demoralizing impact over the anti-gun groups when they hear the News that NRA membership risen to 10-15 or even 25 million from a measly 5 million in one year!

Mine is, just a New Year's wish from an old Veteran with a CCW in California!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

I recently upgraded to life membership. Since i'm 71, I hope I live long enough to get my money's worth.

Yes, Wayne can be strident and doesn't always think before he talks. My dad was a life member and always said we wouldn't have our guns if it weren't for the NRA. I don't always agree with the NRA approach, but I agree that its the big dog in our fight. So I'll overlook some of the BS and continue to support them.

“We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.” Ben Franklin said it best. It's the best reason to support the NRA, regardless of whether we support every statement coming out of Fairfax. I also do a lot of work with the Friends of NRA, raising funds to support youth and women's programs, club improvements and national efforts like Eddie Eagle.

Agreed! Recently upgraded to Endowment and got my wife a yearly membership. I've tried to talk friends and relatives into but apparently $25 a year is too much to part with.

If wishes were horses, we'd all be ridin'.

Being an NRA member would seem to be a no-brainer for gun owners, wouldn't it?

But people have these excuses for not joining. "Oh, I don't like what so-and-so said..." Well, the NRA doesn't require its members to like everything its leadership does or says. So you don't like what someone says...well, how do you like what the anti-gunners have to say?

Or members complain about getting too much "junk mail" from the NRA or too many e-mails. I'm pretty sure we all have trash cans and/or recycle bins, and we all know how to hit the "delete" key on the keyboard. And members can unsubscribe from the NRA's e-mail notices...it's a simple process. NRA members don't even have to get the hard copy of the American Rifleman if they don't want it in their mailbox...you can read it on your computer. So the "junk mail" excuse is really no excuse at all.

Twenty-five bucks a year, that's all it costs to be a member. I'm no math whiz, but that looks like just pennies a day to me. You can't even buy a candy bar or a pack of gum for a few pennies. You'd have to save up for a few days, then you could, I reckon.

Why would anyone not pony up a few cents a day in order to have a voice in decisions that can affect your very way of life?

Excuses, excuses. Fact is, there are no excuses.

I just renewed mine for 5 years for $100! Nra dues will increase by $10 per year starting 1-1-16. I also donate an extra $10-$20 a month on a regular basis to support the cause!

I truly believe the NRA is the only reason we continue to hold 2A rights. With approximately 5M members currently, the NRA has been able to fight anti-2A legislation on many fronts, but the battle for our rights is escalating with big dollar donors like Bloomberg and others pitting their wealth against the NRA. I continue to upgrade my membership, I donate to ILA, and I sign up new members when I can. I believe as the OP does, our best chance to hold onto our 2A rights rest firmly with a strong NRA.

I have paid for memberships for three relatives and/or acquaintances in the last year. I intend to renew those memberships and add a couple more in January.

Starting with a life membership for my teenage son in 2012, I have bought gift memberships for one new person per year. This year was a 3 year membership for a family member. I'm going to try to keep it up.

At the today's "Executive Action" speech which organization was pointed out as the ONLY and BIGGEST "evil", standing on their way to do any so called "meaningful" changes to the gun laws?

If you listen the speech you'll realize the truth in my OP one more time!

I wish that EVERY GUN OWNER in the USA becomes an NRA member for one year, only DURING ELECTION YEARS!!!!

Even if they don't renew their membership for the following year, if $25 is too large an expense for their annual budget.

But at least HELP to INCREASE the POWER and EFFICIENCY of NRA to fight against anti-gun community and their ideology in the courts and in the parliament DURING the ELECTION YEARS!

There is NO BETTER WAY to show the immense power of the Gun Owners in the USA!

The only thing about the first post I would question is the number of guns. The estimates I've seen are 300-350 million guns in the US. The POTUS said there are an estimated 350 million in 65 million "households". So I think the OP may have meant 100 million gun owners in the US.

If we even got HALF of them to join us it would be ten TIMES the number of members we have now (5 million). Can you imagine the clout the NRA would have if it were ten times the size it is now?

I have to believe our anti-gun opponents can - and that is one of the primary reasons they are vilifying and demonizing the NRA, specifically to discourage more people from joining. They fear the power of the NRA and an even larger and more powerful NRA really scares the pants off them.

Yuup, I upgraded to Endowment last April and also joined my state, Kansas State Rifle Assn. as well. As Aaron Tippin sang, "You've got to stand for something, or you'll fall for anything!"

Mine comes up in February......

I fight for the NRA whenever I hear or read a gun grabber. I'm not loud, fast or obnoxious but it's really easy to just dismantle their illogic, misconceptions, and parroting of catch phrases. AND not in the least, blaming the NRA for the violence in this country.
