Hello,
I just got a 60-7 Ladysmith. The serial number is BUJ35xx. I cannot find this serial number in the 3rd edition of the Smith & Wesson Standard Catalog. I am looking on page 400 but do see this block of serial numbers. Please advise what I am missing and the year it was made.
Thanks,

The SWSC doesn't list every prefix, but only a sampling. We're supposed to guesstimate where our guns fall in the sampling. Since the SWSC shows BRF for Aug 1994 and CLS for Feb 1995, my guess would be your gun dates to Fall 1994. Also, S&W started putting the rosewood laminate grips on the Lady Smiths in 1994 so there's something else to narrow it down.

Hello,
I just got a 60-7 Ladysmith. The serial number is BUJ35xx.....

September 1995.

Bit of s/n trivia...... the BUJxxxx prefix was among the last "B" s/n prefixes used. In fact, your gun's s/n is the latest B s/n I've EVER seen, and I've seen and studied thousands of s/n's. (Previously, my latest was a BUJ1xxx s/n). If anyone has a later "B" prefix s/n gun, would love to see it and know the ship date and label details.

And "No", I don't think it adds any monetary value to the gun.... if you're wondering. If you have the box, post a picture of the end label. Based on that, can tell you a little more about it.

And just to add another data point . . . BUH7320 shipped in October 1995 (sorry, no box) . . . ironically it is a 60-4

Thanks. I have several BUH s/n's recorded. One shipped as late a February 1996, the oldest "B" s/n ship date. Alphabetically, it comes right before BUJ.
