Interesting that I was looking for another S&W 3rd gen 45. I want another 4506-x. But yesterday I found a very nice 457 2 tone on line and bought it. Well today I stopped in to my local gun shop at lunch. I happened to have cash in my pocket but wasn't planning to buy anything. In his case was a pristine 457 with case, 2 mags and docs. So I bought it. Now I own 2 although the 1st one is still in shipping. They say good things come in 3s...and yesterday... I did get #3.... My 1st ever 915 was picked up yesterday..from a purchase I made at Christmas time. Under $300 too. I own a 910 but not a 915. It's pretty nice as a shooter..but no box/case like the 457. So now I have to find that pesky 4506 still. I sold mine, foolishly, last spring.. no Idea what I was thinking :eek:

Carries Great

Congrats as well. Two is always better than one. They feel great in the hand, point well, light, solid feel. I recommend you shoot at least 100 or 200 rounds through it/them before you decide to edc. They can be ammo sensitive and subject to 'limp wrist' ftf. Once you find the correct ammo and technique, a great 45 indeed!

Yeah, I can relate. I sold a 4506 once and I'm not doing that again with the one I have now. Good luck in your search.

Great looking pair you've got there, the 915 and 457 are both solid models that often get overlooked (and luckily for us, also under-priced :)).

very nice score......I cant find any 457's on this end of the state even with a search warrant.......and I have many seller regrets on guns sold......but my 4506-1 will never be one of them;)

I was tempted by one of those 2-tone 477s recently, but it had a little too much wear for my liking. And I'm really trying to stick with 9mm for my carry round. Your 457s make it difficult.

Come on Pete! :) Wear is "character"! :D Didn't you say yourself in another thread that you were open to guns in less than top condition? :D

The OP's 457 looks really nice. :) It's almost enough to turn me, a stainless 3rd Gen collector, into a blued gun guy. ;)

On the other hand, I'm still searching daily for a nice Model 457S... although GaryS gets first refusal if it's a local gun. :)

I like blued for my carry pieces. The two-tone is sharp, but that fits into the category of a collector-type for me, which I tend to be more picky about. If I showed you my "carry" 3914 and my "pretty" 3913, you'd get where I was coming from!

A 915 is next on my list for S&W autos, too. It was the 1st handgun I owned, and traded it 19 yrs ago. I got $300 back then, so I'm hoping to get one for close to that. I'm sure BAM has a formula for how much I should actually pay!
