SUPERBOWL PREDICTIONS

I predict mass quantities of money shall be spent on ads and hype along with beer and food.

There will be at least 5 talking heads reviewing every play at least 5 times showing us over and over. The half time "show" will be some nonsense with more ads.

Someone will win and someone will lose, followed by more talking heads on why this did or did not happen.

Then there will be a thread on the "Best Superbowl ad.

The old dog shows the young pup how to play quarterback! Denver 31, Carolina 20!
Sometime the old dog needs to stay on the porch and let the new dog that has learned how to tear all the other dogs apart just do his job. Ha Ha.

Cam brought a pride of fans and love of the game to Jordan Hare in 2010 that I had never saw in attending games there for 42 years of my life. He brings the same pride and love of the game to the NFL and sparkle in those small children's eyes when he gives them a touchdown ball is beyond words or money. Never watched pro ball in the past 42 years, just stayed with the college stuff, until this year. Love watching Cam and gang bring the love of football to the places he plays. They have the best team I have every watched. he is the second best playing to have every played the sport ( The best is Bo Jackson). Looks like we will see in a few days.

WAR EAGLE ( at least it is a struggle with two SEC dogs), sorry Georgia fans.

the Denver defense will have to play their best game ever and Denver offensive line has to give Manning plenty of time. And Denver cannot make any mistakes. if all three occur Denver has a chance, otherwise it will be pretty ugly.

Wow, not much love for my Broncos. What you all got to say about that Denver D now? Can't stop Cam and company?
WRONG!!!

(sorry, had to glote a bit, back to our regulary schedualed program)

It got ugly, but not the way you thought it would.:D
Been a Denver fan for 40+years; lived with the highs and lows; this is one the the better highs. Having the Denver D put the whoop to super Cam was great.

I didn't care which team won, but after watching Carolina's previous two games and Denver's nailbiter win over New England, I didn't think Denver could prevail. Obviously I was thoroughly mistaken.

However, I was able to locate team statistics(see below) and they tell an interesting story. Though the Denver defense obviously played an outstanding game, Carolina's defense was even more effective against the Denver offense. Note the yardage breakdown for each team, along with the first down totals. It appears to me that Carolina was beaten by the two devastating fumbles by Newton, one of which resulted in a Denver defensive TD, and the other in the final minutes near the Carolina goal line resulting in a Denver offensive TD. These were the only two TDs scored by Denver, and they were the margin of victory.

Many people don't enjoy watching defensive battles, but I enjoyed it a great deal. Games like this are so closely contested they keep me on the edge of my seat. You know in such circumstances that every first down, every penalty, a tipped pass here, a sack there -all these and more are crucial in determining the outcome.

This particular game also confirmed for me once again the central role played by the linemen in football. I played on both the offensive and defensive lines all through Jr. High and High School, and it was easy to tell even as a youngster that most games are won and lost up front. Cam Newton is an outstanding player at a skill position, but he was almost totally neutralized because his offensive line was unable to keep the Denver defensive front away from him. It was the same story with the running backs from both teams.

Anyway, my hat's off to the Broncos -they got the job done.

Regards,
Andy

Boy it sure is entertaining to go back and look at the predictions today.

Looks a lot like the predictions that K_2000 would be a disaster

Interesting - the so-called "Y2K" phenomenon was one of the biggest hoaxes "consultants" ever foisted upon state and local governments.

I agree that would like to see Manning go out
on top....if he goes out.
Superman Cam is a big linebacker with a rocket arm.
Speaking of linebackers...Vonn Miller could be a game changer.

TE G. Olsen.. 2 TD's....Cam will run in 2.

Panthers by 10...
38+ point scored.

Well I got one thing right...
Miller was MVP

Snowman you are 100% correct and thanks for posting the stats. I noticed throughout the game Panthers was winning the stats game. Unfortunately they won the turnover game also. The 2 extra turnovers by Cam resulted in 14 points and of course Panthers lost by....14 points. However you cannot put all the blame on him. Denver's defense was awesome. If Panthers hadn't been in the game I would've been pulling for Denver. It was a good game!!
