Where do some people get their price 's from when they sell on E Bay ?
I scan E bay a lot and have to laugh when I see some of the prices people charge for used or new items! Some 2x or more higher the retail!
I was real shocked when I saw someone selling a Alien Gear 3.0 IWB for $109.00 thought maybe a typo but he has several listings on different A.G. Holsters at that highly over priced items!
Hope people do their homework before buying lol Rant over for now!
What over priced item have you seen ?

Truthfully, the mainly only good deals on fleabay, are for DVDs and SOME movie images. I stopped even looking there about 2 years ago.

I have gotten some good deals on E bay myself! I picked up a lot of motorcycle parts! I also got some good deals on books .CDs and other items! It does pay to research lol... But I scan a lot for the laughs ! I mean there is a gut selling TALON grip tape for 2$ more the Talon sight! :o But I agree there are a lot of items being sold that are not worth squat!

I buy all kinds of stuff off of ebay, from holsters and grips to razor blades, diabetic supplies, vintage outdoor gear and clothes and on-and-on and ON. I,for one, find it to be a limitless resource for things I can't find locally and if I don't think it's a good deal,I don't buy it! Best thing is,I don't have to go shopping........SOMEBODY brings it to me! What's not to like about THAT? ;):)

Over the years I've bought and sold a lot. Had one issue where the person said the watch I sold was from China, not Germany. I absolutely know the watch was made in Germany and gave her some facts. She retracted her complaint.
A more recent issue, a guy tried to screw me out of $290 on an item in which he misrepresented what he was selling. He refused to take it back. I appealed to e-Bay and they sided with me. A few days later they e-mailed me that they reversed their decision and ruled in favor of the seller. I made a few calls to them (to the Phillipines I believe) raised hell, and they agreed to give me my money back. Don't know if the money was from the seller who screwed me or e-Bay. Anyway, I will be extra careful in any future transactions through them.

Some crazy asking prices on flea-bay, but no more crazy than Gunbroker-- Was looking around there for a 4" 629 barrel for a pinned gun and cannot believe some of those prices. Are people really paying those?? Wow!! :( Sure feel sorry for you younger guys who are really looking for stuff. :)

I've been a buyer and seller on eBay for almost 15 years, and yes, it has always been buyer beware. If someone pays too much, Duh! no salesperson sweet talked them into it.

If you sell too cheap buyers think the item isn't "real" I sell mostly jewelry and since my source is my pawnshop I can sell cheaper than someone sourcing from a wholesale supplier. I get questions all the time "Is it real gold?" "Are they real diamonds?"

Since all sellers get some free listings now days, it doesn't cost them anything to keep listing at high prices hoping some sucker comes along.

I can bitch about eBay a lot but it has been good to me over the years, 25-30% of my gross business income is from there.

Like dealing in any other venue it pays to do your research prior to bidding or buying.

The sellers that irritate me the most are those offering bargain basement prices, but charging highly inflated shipping & handling fees. A $20 item offered at $10 might look like a good deal before you notice the $15 flat rate shipping charge.

ebay is forcing the original sellers off to make way for the macro sellers; completely out of control. But we keep using them and they will keep using us.

The big sellers are one of my grips. And generally their customer service is terrible. Don't get me started on the China based sellers!

The high shipping isn't as widespread as it used to be, eBay now charges the seller fees on both the selling prices & the shipping. Use the search Cost + shipping.

After learning that undecorated Case 2 blade large Coke bottle knives exist by spotting one in an eBay Buy It Now ad I wanted one. At $180 it was over priced like virtually all eBay Buy It Now ads. I found old out of stock ads with a $90 retail price from 2010. Patience and lots of time watching eBay auctions over 9 months netted one NIB for ~ $65. I have seen no other examples of the same knife.

If I was not collecting slip joint knives but only needed one for my pocket I'd have been better off picking up a common knife at the hardware store.

Today I was talking about someone selling New Alien Gear 3.0 Holsters for $109.00 when A.G. sells new for like 45$ +shipping ,I have seen Talon Grip Tape being sold for 19$ + shipping and they are 17 $ direct! But I have scored some GREAT deals as well! Just pays to do research!
