Anyone have the new performance center shield 9 ?

I really like my PC 9 when compared to my Home Defense Weapon the Glock 19. I feel my PC is more accurate and has about the same recoil as my Glock. So far I shot about 700 rounds down range without a hiccup using different grains from different manufactures of ammo. It is my CC weapon and I think it is a perfect size for this. This gun is worth waiting for if you have the patience. I would recommend putting your name on waiting list on web sites and checking LGS on a regular basis if you haven't done so.

Really comfortable carry gun. With the right holster it disappears.

Since I haven't shot a regular shield I have no basis for comparison. But, I can say that the PC shield is very accurate. I do believe that this is in large part due to the PC sear.

FO Sights are decent, but the porting tends to dirty the front post quite a bit.

This is probably subjective, but the porting tames the recoil, to the point that staying on target is easy peasy.

Overall - accurate and fun to shoot in a nice tiny package.

I just bought mine today. I had a regular shield and it was nice. I have not shot this yet but I can tell the trigger pull is lighter and less gritty.

My gun shop had a .40 in stock last week. My wife wanted it as her carry gun, but the guys at the shop said not to carry it. They tested one out when they first came out. They said the porting didn't really affect vision firing normal, but hip firing blinded them from particles coming out of the ports. I'm sure it's a great range shooter, but not something I'd want to risk as a carry gun.

I have seen the youtube videos and the problem you are referring to is minut. Better trigger, way better sites.

Hickock shot it and didn't complain about the particles. Watch the youtube videos.

And as far as buying a 40 cal I would not. Today's 9mm rounds are equal or better than the slow 40. The fbi is going back to the 9 mm btw.

I like slow, its still very hard to out run. Plus when it tumbles it really creates damage. Probably another reason soo many of us like a .45acp.

Yes col Ken those are good specs but other manufacturers make 9mm faster and more ft lbs. Also you will get less penetration because the 40 cal bullet will expand more resulting in less penetration. I personally use federal law enforcement hst 124 grain hp which will outperform the 40 in the gel and denim tests. To each his own I guess

I LOVE mine! Only have about 125 rounds through it, but it feels like it runs fast and makes me want to shoot faster. Hence why a few of the rounds pictured were caused my me jerking the trigger. The trigger pull is one of the best I've felt(from the factory) and the reset, to me, is near perfect. Pictured is 50 rounds from 7 and 15 yards.

I was the biggest fan boy of porting back in the old days. Now that I see it really is pointless why waste your money unless your running 3 gun?

Buy a regular shield with NO SAFETY and APEX IT OUT!

Anyone have any doubts about this gun should read the January edition of guns&ammo. The problems you think you may have with the ported barrell are addressed and you just might be surprised.

Buy a Shield and buy the Apex trigger you are at about the cost of a PC and you lose out on the sites and ports. Kinda goes against the value proposition you are trying to illicit.

Another reason my wife passed on the one we saw is the price difference. A PC shield goes for $500 and the regular goes for $375. These are local prices. By the time I put night sights on the PC it's a $600+ gun. Maybe some people don't mind using fiber sights at night, but for me those would have to go. If the trigger eventually bothers me I'll just buy the Apex kit.

That's a huge price difference. There was only 50 dollar difference when I bought mine.
