Scarcity of 22 LR ammo

I thought Agiula, Fiocchi, RWS, and Wolf (and others?) were imported.

Yes , I'm sorry , I was this thinking of cheap WM stuff , & even more so with the high demand why , like with other ammunition when nothing could be found along came tulammo , you could find & it was affordable then brassmax & perfecta that I still use ,
Why with all the money that could be made some importers have not jumped on it.
I'm sure there is a reason I don't see UST something I wonder :)

I too have 10k+ of .22lr, I only look for the flavors I like. Nothing under 40gr

3 high Velocity,
2 hyper velocity
6 SubSonic (includes 2 match grade ammo, One from Eley and one from Luapa)

Over 4 .22LR weapons I buy what they really like and what I like to shoot. Once I hit about 15k of the above flavors I will stop buying for a while .

A few of them are hard to next to impossible to fine at times. So when I see them I buy at least a brick, in effort to save some for another's who may like the same ammo.

Managed a Bucket of golden for 69.00 1400 rds, but they are junk only good in my .22 revolvers

Those new golden bullets are really weird compared to some older examples I have. I have a few old green plastic boxes of 250 rounds of the golden and they are pretty good. The new ones in the 525 round box are all loosey goosey, the bullets aren't even crimped in tight.

I don't think there is anything wrong with that... I have seen a lot of .22lr that the bullet can be turned in the case and they have all shot just fine.

I'm betting that you will see that more in bulk packed ammo, as the ammo hits other rounds in the package, causing the soft lead to give more at the crimp.

I have 10,000 rounds of .22lr. Notice that I am not the one crying about a shortage. Why do I keep so many rounds on hand? So I can shoot when I want. So my son can shoot when he wants. So our Boy Scout troop can shoot when they want.

I was going to offer you some help, but with your attitude, nevermind... figure it out on your own.

I agree on why. I don't have 10,000 rounds but I have a couple K worth. And I'm not saving it for the "event" I'm shooting it. Why did I purchase .22 firearms to begin with but to shoot them for pleasure. I love target shooting and plinking and .22 still the best caliber for that purpose. And the kids, and the grand kids and so on. And like you said, .22 isn't particularly going to save me and I'm sure not going to be able to schlep 10,000 rounds if I have to go on the road to safety. Shoot. Have fun. You are only here once, I don't think there will be guns in eternity. Just guessing.

I have about 3,000 40gr mini mags in 300 rd Swamp People boxes and 100 packs.

These are the best in my SR22.Over 1000 shot without a gun malfunction and shooting very good groups at 7yds.

The 100 packs were $7.29 at Walmart while the 300 rd boxes were $24 at my range.

All my 22 shooting these days are with the SR22 that loves the mini mags.

Fresh Golden Bullets from last week in 100 packs all functioned perfectly.

A 1000 pack of M-22 (2 x 500) bought in Walmart a month ago is a mixed bag.The first 500 pack shot well with no failure to feed or eject and groups all not that bad.The second 500 pack has had several failures to feed so far after firing 150 rds.

Federal Champion blue boxes of 50 is a no go in my SR22.

Stingers,Vipers and Yellow Jackets from Bass Pro are all good in the SR22

AMEN to that , shoot 'em if you got 'em , I have a few put back just incase the Grandson & I get a chance to go shoot & I would not give a second thought to taking the last box out to shoot.
Speaking of last box that would be M22 & I'm not sure if I have heard any opinions on it. Any one out there like it ?

I've burned through a few boxes of the Winchester M-22, and would just say that the results are mixed. I would say they are on par with Remington Golden Bullet.

Sorry to hear that , I do have most of a 555 box of Golden Bullets that I was going to give to someone , but I started taking them to the range & shoot them in a rented M&P-22 with mixed results in it also.

How many rounds do you want??? Obviously you are not looking. Right now you can go to CDNN and buy 15000 + rounds, for 14.74 shipping, price is ranging from 7-9 cents. If you like you can have your wife, friends, etc buy 15 K from them also. That would give you 60 K and keep you in ammo for at least a week. Last week on 3/16, 3/17,3/18 there were notifications of ammo available, by at least 3 of the people that are trying to help and have posted in this thread. I have notified 10 people when I got the notifications, I bought none, zero, Nada. CDNN started having cases ( 3250 ) as early as September 2015, ( limit 5 cases per order ) yes you can call back, I bought none of it since it was 10 cents per round. The question is why does CDNN have unlimited supply of 22 lr, Rem & Fed and distributors have None?? I have called Rem and asked that question- went up 3 layers of supervisors and got No answers. So if you want 22 go buy 15K now, 1903 est, Monday/21/2016. But do not complain about the "scarcity". Everyone has their price point, but as stated earlier, paying scalper prices will only propagate this supposed scarcity. Be Safe,

I suppose that makes sense. I didn't think to mention that the old 250 round plastic boxes I was referring to were bulk packed as well.
The newer ammo shoots fine, I just didn't like the bullet wobbling in the case, it just seems sloppy to me.

How do you buy cases from CDNN? I don't see that option.

For some reason, the Remington Golden Bullets is the brand my model 41 likes. But the 100ct. box is 40 grains, and the larger size containers are 36 grains...so I'm only looking for 100ct. boxes...which is a pain when dealing with 1-3 box limits. I now have 600 rounds, which will last me about 6 weeks.

They have changed to a limit of 12 boxes of 525 rem, and 10 boxes of fed auto match. A month ago you could have ordered up to 5 cases of rem per order. Maybe their supply has finally been depleted?? They started with case prices in Sept 2015, but I did not want to pay 10 cents per round considering I had enough to shoot for the last 5 years, and it has not affected my volume of shooting, yes I did have more than one brick when the shortages started. Simple you buy a brick or 2 weekly when they are on sale and you start in 1995. My problem was that they were getting it from Rem, who was not supplying the distributors. They do not sell only Rem firearms or ammo, and when this is a memory I will still remember that rem sold to them and not all distributors. So much for brand loyalty!! Be Safe,
