I've always heard BEEMER when referring to the car. Lot of people I know own BEEMERS and not one owns a motorcycleBimmer is a car, Beemer is a bike. There is some overlap between Beemer and Bimmer owners, but not much.
On seeing an example of the other on the road, both have been known to say "I didn't know they made those". Beemer riders are kidding, usually. Bimmer drivers are serious, usually.
