For the past twenty years the new light weight, less noise chain saws have been the in thing to use.
They all do the job with their light weight chains and medium bite.
I have a OLD McCullock saw that has a 18 an 24" blade.
The little blade is used 90% of the time since big trees are not dropped any more per the forestry regulations, in my area.
On one outing for wood a Forest service man drove eight miles around a lake to get to my working area. He got out of the truck and walked over to me to see what the heck was making all that noise. He checked the spark arrester and just smiled at the size of the motor and told me to have a safe day and left.
I have to admit it does sound like a Harley when you fire it up and there is no secret that something is going DOWN !!
