Recently spoke to a friend who exclaimed the G19 is his favorite firearm he never carries. He shoots it the best, would be his preferred firearm in a handgun fight--yet, carries the littlest mouse gun he can find for deep concealment. His choice...

Anyone else have a preferred firearm, yet circumstances prevent EDC?

My M&P9 Full Size w/ Crimson Trace Laserguard.

I have carried it but it is now strictly a home/range firearm. It's my favorite pistol to date. An amazing and accurate pistol that's ridiculously easy to shoot. I mainly use it to shoot 15-20 yards 3" targets.

Not to brag, but when I shoot, the veterans stop to observe and shower me with compliments that make me blush...I shoot 1 handed, while moving in the tiny stall at the range, hip fire, etc....I usually don't do traditional 2 handed shooting anymore with the fullsize because it gets repetitive/boring putting mags after mags onto a 3" target at 7-10 yards.

My carry is a M&P9C w/ CT which shares some similar characteristics to the full size such as trigger weight and break point. Grip is slightly different but a fairly easy transition between the 2. Muzzle flip and recoil is similar with the advantage given to the Full Size.

Only reason I don't carry the Full Size because the length digs into me when sitting down making it incredibly uncomfortable.

My favorite is my Sig P226 Elite in .40 S&W. It's just too big a gun for EDC. Recently I bought a new M&P Shield in 9mm for EDC and I'm starting to love this little gun. So much so, I'm thinking of getting a full size M&P 9.

I have a CZ 75 P01 that I modified with Cajun Gun Works trigger, hammer, disconnector and springs. I love shooting this gun, and am pretty accurate with it, but I don't carry it because the trigger is too light. LOVE this gun!

My Sig P320C, it feels great in my hand and I shoot it very well. Even though its very doubtful I would need the 15 rounds per mag it is comforting in the wicked out world we now live in. If I ever fine a holster I like with it I will alternate between that and my 9mm Shield which is also a very nice gun and easy to carry.

My modded Sig P226 Mk25. Next would be my FS CORE 9mm. Sadly they're too big for CCW for me.

Howdy, All,

Well, I'd have to say that my wonderful Colt Officer's Enhanced ACP has now become a "safe Queen", of sorts! I've had that little pistol since bought brand new, back when the very first series of "Enhanced" Colt pistols came out, I think it was back in the 1990's. I've shot the heck out of it, and done a few things that made it into my dream gun for EDC!

Over the years, I had a match bushing, trigger, and extractor installed. They made an already good gun into a great gun!! I had the slide nickel-plated, but did not like it after a time, and sent it to Robar, over in Arizona, for their most excellent NP3 coating, and also had them put a set of Trijicon Tritium night sights on it. Once back in my hands, I removed the old grips that I'd always used, and replaced them with a lovely pair of Colt walnut grips. In the end, it was a thing of beauty, and shoots like a dream!! Very accurate, quick to draw and fire, and absolutely reliable, I LOVE this little Colt Officers!!!

However, an LEO friend of mine mentioned that, IF I ever had to shoot someone with it, in a defensive situation, I would very probably be turning the pistol over to the Police, at least for a time, and this was a very sobering thought to me!!

After mulling it over, I decided that EDC guns should be guns that shoot great, but can easily be replaced, if for any reason, you lose the gun!! I simply could not bear the thought of possibly losing my little Colt! So, it lives in the safe, where it gets occasional use, but will never be carried again for EDC. I went to Glock 23, & 27, and S&W 642, and now Shield 9, as my EDC choices. All of them can be easily replaced, if, God Forbid, I had to lose one of them!!

I truly do miss carrying my old, and very long-trusted Colt Officer's though.... Take care, and God Bless!

Every Good Wish,
Doc

Tie - Between my Gen 4 G17 and my circa 1991 Beretta 92FS.

But in case Hillary gets elected - I lost them in a boating accident.

As of late, my favorite firearm, 28-2 Highway Patrolman:

My everyday carry, Gen 4 Glock 17:

The former is 100% my decision. The latter I have no choice in. I don't feel under armed with either.

My Kimber Pro Carry HD. I fitted it with an ED Brown Bobtail mainspring housing added VZ grips. EGW ball head disconnector and sear, a Wilson bullet proof hammer, titanium firing pin, ambi safety and flat spring kit. It has the best trigger I have ever felt in a 1911 and I wouldn't sell it for $2,000 It is hands down the best feeling to me 1911 I have ever used. If I ever had to use it in self defense and law enforcement confiscated it, I doubt I would ever see it again.
