The question is--of these brands of ice cold heaven
(aka) Ice cream, which is the best?
They be:
Haagen Dazs, Breyers or Ben and Jerry's.

Ive only had opportunity to try a tiny amount of Haagen Dazs--but never tried the rest. Im not much a fan of Blue Bell-and have had some.

P.S.I WHY DONT THEY MAKE EGG NOG ICE CREAM??????????

To be honest I have to go off your list and choose Dryers. It very frequently is priced down to $3 or the current Fred Meyer price $2.50. I almost never pay the $5 to $6 regular price. Umpqua (? spelling) Java Thunder is so good that I will pay full price for it. Similarly most brands probably have a flavor that will hit your weak spot but you'd get very fat finding all of them.

Ben & Jerry's has a a couple of excellent flavors but I do not buy them for two reasons: extremely high fat content and Ben & Jerry's infamous promotion of gun control laws.

I just must be a simple minded person. I buy store brand ice cream (Kroger) and it is just as good and makes your head hurt just as bad as the name brands, at about half the price. Saves a little cash for more AMMO.

More ammo?! MORE ICE CREAM! Chocolate fudge is just not as good on .44 special rounds.

I like Haagen Dazs the best if I don't feel like making it myself. Fresh home made is always the bomb.

I've tried a wide variety of ice cream over the years, and currently we're somewhat limited to what is available at Walmart (although I do on occasion drive about 15 miles over to a neighboring town that has a Braum's and buy my wife a banana split.) I've found that I like Great Value (Walmart store brand) ice cream just as well if not better than the name brands, and it's cheaper.

Ice cream is my favorite food in the whole wide world so I know a lot about it. :D Ben and Jerry's is too dense and high in fat. I find Bryers light and not creamy enough.

Dryers is my go to and you can find it often on sale in the regular grocery stores for $3. My husband loves his chocolate and complains if it does not have any in it so I mostly go for those. We like the Dryers chocolate ice cream with chocolate Crunch candy bar in it. The pieces are crispy so it is nice to have that different texture. Their chocolate with mini peanut butter cups is also really good. Their flavors hve the right amount of sweet.

I like Tillamook ice cream consistency best because it is really creamy, but some flavors are a bit too sweet for my taste. If you like Malt they have a chocolate malted Moo shake flavor. It is good but really sweet. Their chocolate peanut butter is really good too. My hands down favorite flavor is their wild blueberry. That is YUM in all caps but hard to find.

I was in line at the now defunct Cub Foods with a 5 quart pail of ice cream. The price at the time was $1.99. The guy behind me ask if that ice cream tasted any good. I told him to think of his favorite premium ice cream, ala Lady Borden, Velvet, or Haagen-Dazs. Then think of the rich creamy flavor and the $3.49 a quart price tag. I then said this is $1.99 for 5 quarts, How do you think it tastes? At which point he scrunched up his face, then I told him it tasted much better than he was thinking!

I like ice cream everyday, in good sized quantities, and on my budget I still buy large pails of less expensive ice cream!

My wife worked in an restaurant with a large soda fountain when we first met. She taught me that the whipped cream is supposed to be equal to or exceed the rest of the Sundae! Now you understand how it came to be that I am married!

Haagen-Daz when it's on sale. Vanilla Swiss Almond that has been left out to slightly soften. Or Strawberry...

A lot of Ben & Jerry stuff is just too over the top for me, and a lot of Breyer flavors are not even ice cream anymore and call themselves a "frozen non-dairy dessert".

The truth is I am a horrible sugar addict, but a lot of sweet things just don't taste as good as they used to. Formulas change and nothing remains the same. Maybe my tastes change over time as well.

I grew up with the OLD recipe Breyer's ice cream ... it was a toss up between vanilla bean and cherry vanilla for me. The downside is that about 15 years or so ago, Sealtest purchased Breyer's and changed the recipe. On rare occasions, I would dabble with Ben and Jerry's, but I don't like financing their policies. I have found that Turkey Hill is a tasteful and enjoyable ice cream.
