Shield 2.0 ?

My guess is a 2.0 shield will not be happening for quite a while since the Shield is selling very good just as it is.

S&W will have to stay ahead of the curve though because there is more competition for it all the time, in fact I have a Walther PPSm2 that is a very good gun. I'll bet a replacement will come in about 3 years.

no please, leave as it is, only thing I would ad is the new texture.

My guess would be you'll get this at some point, along with the forward slide serrations on the 45. I would hope you just get iterative upgrades instead of a whole new gun, because it is pretty ideal as is. IMO price plays a bigger factor in these smaller carry guns than it does in the full size models and unless they can hit the same price point, it wouldn't make much sense.

Will it happen?

No doubt it will. Probably sooner rather than later.

IMO, the two biggest changes in the M2.0 series is the grip stippling and the new trigger bar/sear arrangement.

It is fairly easy for S&W to see how the after market services their guns, i.e., who is selling what accessories for their guns, and how S&W is losing that revenue. In addition, the customer perception that S&W guns need changes to be more functional puts S&W in an awkward position. Besides, new, tweaked models SELL.

Better grips, sights and especially triggers top the list of Shield improvements, and because of economies of scale in their manufacturing processes, S&W can provide these improvements with little increased cost.

Yep. It's gonna happen. Six months is my prediction, maybe less.

These are on my wish list

There is a new Performance Center Shield .45 coming out.
It makes sense for the compacts to follow suit with 2.0

Is there adjustable sights for the M&P shield? I consistently shoot to the right and I am left handed

Drifting the sights can work. I would however encourage you to change your grip and trigger finger placement so that you are pressing the center of the trigger straight to the rear. You also should lock the knuckle and first joint of your trigger finger and only move the second joint to move the trigger rearward. You can use dry fire to work on this, so it's free😁. This is a common problem with DA and striker pistols.

Of course there will be a Shield 2.0. The big question is, when will it come? Followed closely by, what form will it take. I suspect they'll let the full size 2.0 percolate for a while and then incorporate the same upgrades with any little tweaks they learn from the full size model.

Believe it or not, S&W is very interested in customer feedback.

I would say these are the most obvious changes. The biggest change is the full length steel sub-frame. That's a major improvement.

WRONG. WRONG. WRONG.
