Haven't had one in a while.
I was looking at my guns (26 hangguns & rifles) thinking to myself , what do I need these for. Maybe I should just get rid of them, can't really shoot any longer I mean it isn't really fun when you shake as bad as I do and have to bench rest rifles.
(I'm sure I could defend myself with no problem).
Don't have anyone to leave them to. Then I think to myself what I would do in my spare time without clean guns to clean and polish again. Then I think if I did sell them I'd have to buy new carpet cause I'd wear it out pacing from nothing to do. Someone asked me one day ,are those guns new, I said no I just polish and clean them all the time.
I'm sure it will pass like it always does.

A few years ago.one of my cousin came to me and told me he was being offered a good amount of $$$for his 200 acres wood lot.Since he knew I used to have one and had sold it(the sole BIG mistake in my life)he wanted to know if I'd recommend him to sell or keep.
Told him that I knew he'd come to his lot with his kids and grand kids and have fun watching them catch fish in the river in summertime and have fun in the snow in wintertime;he'd just have to compare this with the fun of looking into his bank account while in his rocking chair.
Keeping or selling your guns is,in my book, the same dilemna.
BTW,he kept the woodlot!

I have thought about selling the safe fillers but I figured they are fun to shoot even if not very often. I figured some day I might need some money so they could fill that need if it comes.
I actually think I have bought my last gun. I really have my bases covered as to what I like. I figure any gun I buy now I might as well ask the kids what kind of gun they might like to have someday.

I have made it my mission to reload for and shoot everything in my safe this year. That doesn't count anything I buy between now and then but if I buy something, I'll want to load for it so I can shoot it more.
Of course I have not told my wife about any of that...

cabin fever?
did new york miss this insanely warm winter, carp?
it's been warm enow here to mess around outside lots.
i've been outside with the legal minimum of clothes when we usually have blizzards.

I'm in the Catskills--- 2in. of hail with 2in. of snow on top of that

Thank goodness I don't have PTSD. I do 3exs. Living alone is not all bad but I do miss having a female to talk too and do things with. But we must not let the loneliness over take us are the depression. That is not acceptable. We have a forum here that the folks will talk to you call you if you want them to. They pray for you and will go out of their way to see your taken care. Just let someone know you hurting and you'll get some help here. Don't be too proud to ask!!!!

Well my son got into Motocross racing instead of hunting. Still races today at 44 years old.

I recently looked at my first Bolt action 22 rifle and 12 Gauge single shot. I thought if something happens to me these might end up just going to a gun show and not being used as I haven't used them in over 25 years.

Both are rust free and like new so I asked around at the pistol club and found a good home for them with a young lad who is just getting started with duck and rabbit hunting. I hope he has as much fun as I did years ago.

Getting old sucks big time but I have a lot of fun with the younger club members and it makes my day.
