Love for large caliber Magnums

If I ever have a need for something bigger than one of my 44 mags I have two 7mm Rem mags.

My first handgun(mid '70's)was a .44Mag.It was a great teacher namely in how to develop a great flinch.Long story short, about 20 years ago,I decided to master the beast.Today(running into my 63rd year)I can say I enjoy shooting the things(got 3 of them shooting 265gr at over 1300fps chronoed).Always said that I'd stop there but I'm getting the itch for the .460(can shoot the .454 and .45Colt in it;practice makes perfect!).
If only I could come up with an excuse I haven't used to my wife to shell out the cash so I can bring one home!Anybody can help me out there?

I wish that I had a large caliber magnum revolver, but I do have a large caliber magnum derringer. Here is a 45 win mag:

My first large caliber hand gun is a single shot. Not a magnum but still a hand full!

Since then I have acquired several more. The latest being a 4" 500 S&W.

How's recoil of a 4" compared to other sizes?

My deceased wife loved the 44 Mag. Her EDC was a 3" 629. She carried 240 gr soft points and was one of the best revolver shots I ever knew. She could clear the x and 10 rings at 50 yds off hand. Closer distances were no problem. I miss her.

I've always found the "this old thing" line to be effective, that is until I get the Spa bill and Nordstrom charges. Oh well sometimes you just have to hit order button and take your punishment.....

My condolences to you. I'm sure she was a wonderful lady.

That's a tough woman to carry a 3" 44 Magnum.

I had a lot of fun. 35 rounds through the 500. Used the Primary Arms Advanced Micro dot. I'll see how good it is after more ammo.

Also shot a 44 Magnum today. Only 20 rounds.

Great time.
