Degaussing a revolver

I recently bought some dummy rounds for dry firing. I have done a lot of dry firing my Combat Magnum and found that my cylinder was sometimes easy to open, other times a little difficult. Then I noted that the tools were sticking to the cylinder. It has turned out that the cylinder has become magnetized and depending on the polarity the cylinder was at times difficult to rotate or open. I would like to degauss the cylinder. How is the best way to degauss a revolver?

I keep all my revolvers degaussed. I thought the April fools content was those dummy rounds that look just like live ammo....
 
Easy, get a 50 foot 14 gauge extension cord and connect it to a drop light.
Coil the cord into a 10" circle leaving enough loose to enable you to plug it into a convenient outlet then wrapping it in duct tape to keep the loop stable.
Put a 60 watt bulb in the drop light and plug it in.
Pass the gun through the coil several times.
The alternating current'll set up an oscillating magnetic field which will align the electrons and leave the the magnetic field of the revolver neutral.

Make sure to get pictures and post 'em so we can all point and laugh that you fell for it.

By the way, nice gun.

To get the alternating current, won't I need to use an AC battery?

Nah, you can use a standard DC battery. Just switch the poles real fast.
Get a rhythm going and you can hit 60 cycles easy.
Of course that means you'll havta use your feet to put the gun through the loop.

So I won't have to use my feet, the widow who lives next door is going to have her husband help me.

Under LEOSA.... I wanted something to display when armed, teaching LEO classes.
And did not want ANYTHING that an overzealous prosicuter
Could cobble up an impersonation charge. This badge fit the bill. As I conceal carry all other times, it is not displayed.
