Random Object Photographs

I took this photo yesterday evening. I have never seen a line contrast like this before.

I had never seen clouds like this before, either. I sent a photo to the local TV meteorologist, and he says these are called "shelf clouds."

Our cat loves to monitor all activities in the kitchen, in this case us preparing dinner. My wife told me not to tell anyone that she being a doctor still allows the cat on the kitchen table, so please forget ever seeing this photo.

Reminds me of grandma's cookies: They always had cat hair in them.
(She was an import from Norway, does that explain it?)

Mine was the Belmont exchange. My 85 yr old mother still has that number!

sadly I do, and also party lines.... yep, I'm old !!!

The exchanges and party lines were before my time, but my folks definitely had them. Some of my Mom's relatives in rural Pennsylvania had one of those phones you had to turn the hand crank to ring.

Who's been shootin' at my fence?!?

Actually...no one.

Those rascally little carpenter bees have returned and created their own little apartment complex in a section of my fence. They've apparently been busy little bees.

I don't really care about the holes. I mean, the fence isn't going to collapse because of a few holes. The bees are interesting to watch, especially when going into their holes. They're larger than the holes and it's like they shrink themselves to go inside. They resemble bumblebees. I often stand right next to the holes when the bees are entering and leaving, and they don't pay me the slightest bit of attention.

They're part of summer. I wouldn't change a thing about them.

be watchful - if they set up shop in your house they won't be nearly so interesting!
