Greetings! I realized I "put the cart before the horse" by asking a question here, before a proper introduction.
As stated in my original post, I am "new" to the AR platform.
I have collected milsurp "bolt" guns since the early '70's.
Large collection of Mausers, Mosins, Enfields, etc.
First auto was an Egyptian FN 49. I still have a Venezuelan Navy 7mm.
Then, in the '90's started off with "cheap" SKS's, followed by Norinco AK's.
Had friends who could "afford" AR's, but I never owned one.
Fast forward to now.
Found this "as new" M&P Sport 2 at a price I could not pass up.
Ammo, compared to the 7.62 my PTR, and CETME eats, is "cheap".
This 15 will probably remain "as is", and will go into the safe, along with 2 Nodac Spud AK's I built, as a back-up.
I Thank S&W for offering a quality rifle at an affordable price. Also, for providing this Forum for my learning curve.
I look forward to exchanging info.
