Snatched up the Doc before 9 this am and headed North, the Armory is on the other side of OIA, less than 10 miles from his house. Pulled in the parking lot and: "What? Is it cancelled?" No, but everyone looked like the "Maytag Repairman." Took 2 tours in an hour and a half, lotsa faces I've never seen but prices on new guns were "MSRP+20%." There were some S&W Model 10's for $600-$700 and a "Commercial S&W 1917" in very nice shape for $1295. In fact it was so nice I wondered about originality. The grips were repro's (I think).
Almost forgot: H&R 929 blue 2 1/2", more than one for $499 (?!?!?).
I feel for guys just getting into "Milsurp collecting." Mauser K98 beat to death for $999, Mosins for $650 and a Chinese SKS w/spike bayo for the same $650. Those were $69 back in the 20th century unless you bought a csae of 12 for $700.
At least admit was $18 for both of us with $2 off coupons, yes I'm a cheap bascabbage. Joe
