Earlier this year I sent my SD9 back because FTF issues. I'd get a few rounds in and then the trigger would pull, but no "bang". The factory range tested it and found no problem. When it came back I took it out and ran a box or 2 with out an issue. Today, I was able to get 7 rounds before the same problem cropped up. It would work intermittently, maybe firing 2-3 times and then nothing. The trigger felt like it reset, but when I pulled it nothing. When I called, they suggested trying different ammo. I was using reloads that work fine in my P95 and RIA, but i told them I was using Blaser. (I've heard they don't always cover repairs if you are using handloads.) Their suggestion was to try other brands and since the factory is closed for 2 weeks I might as well go that route to see if it works. Sorry for the length, but has anyone have any ideas on this. If it works out that I have to use factory ammo it won't too bad since it is a 9mm. Thanks.

1700 rounds with no issues with factory ammo. If using hand loads, your primers might be a bit hard. After verifying to round won't fire, eject it and check to see if you have a primer strike on the backside. That will tell you it's your rounds or the gun.

"Fat bulletts" or not going all the way into battery, can cause this.
Having the reloads work in one gun and not another is very common.

Every gun seems to have its own preference for ammo that will be failure free. The fact that you are shooting reloads is warning bell for me. It does not matter if other guns are eating the reloads.

Buy 100 rounds of good (not bulk) ammo. Shoot it. if you have no problems it is telling you that you have an ammo not a gun problem. Small investment to get a solution is better than speculating and guessing.

A: Don't lie

B: Let somebody else shoot it . . .

As requested, I got to the range today with factory ammo, Winchester, Fiocchi, American Eagle and Braser Brass. All functioned fine. There must be something with my reloads. The formula I've been using call for a COL of 1.10 with 5.1 g of Autocomp. All the factory loads were from 1.130 and 1.150, could that be the source of my issues?

Evidently.
