M&P rebate is a hoax. Two reasons why.

People need to know this. It's been four months since I sent in my rebate for my M&P .45 Shield. Then, this past week, before 9/30/17, I purchase a new M&P 2.0 compact, and go to put in the rebate information and it says my serial number is not in their system.

My last two threads got locked. Why? I called them out on something so heaven forbid their wrong doing is called out. This is ridiculous.

I had to mail mine due to same issue you are talking about. As for 4 months you need to call smith or the rebate company.
To call it a hoax is misleading .

Sorry for your problems. I purchased a Shield 45 and have received and cashed my $75 rebate. Granted, that is the previous rebate but it was no hoax. It did take a long time but I got it.
 
Call Milano the company in charge of the rebate and complain, S&W has nothing do to wit it. Good luck

My S/N wasn't recognized either. They told me to print it out and mail in
 
Definition of hoax "something intended to deceive or defraud". So far there have been THOUSANDS of people who have received their rebates so I think that pretty much rules out being a hoax. So, I'm not really sure what you have called them out on. Perhaps your post should have been titled "Is there something I'm doing wrong?"

I think your lack of keeping up with current technology is not the problem of Smith and Wesson, or any rebate company. And I bet you knew before you bought the gun that rebates were done almost entirely online or by mailing in, yet you proceeded to purchase the gun, and now you're whining you can't get your prize. oMg.

I had them say my serial # wasn't good too. I emailed them and they told me it was a glitch on their software and just submit by mail. It cost me $5 to send the paperwork certified mail(so I would have "proof" of delivery within the time frame. I've said it before, S&W should fire Milano as their rebate processor, as this company is absolutely no capable of doing an adequate job and the net effect is that they are alienating S&W's customers so badly that they will stop buying their products. I have 3 M&P products, but each rebate has been a less than pleasant experience and my reaction has been to not bother looking at their new products just because I hate leaving money on the table, but at what cost!
