Nice gun! I have a 15-4 but an early Combat Masterpiece is still on my "wish list".

Looking for info on a 4 screw CM is what led me to this website. It was my first S&W. Now I probably got about 50 or so S&W's. I wonder if there is a connection somewhere I'm not seeing....

Congrats on your gun! I recently picked up my second K 38 Combat Masterpiece. Like my first, it's a 1953 model. Also have a couple of model 15's. Best value in the iconic vintage handgun market, IMO. Have fun.

Thanks for the nice comments. I picked it up earlier today. A 24 year old kid was the seller. Nice, conservative college student. I gave him an extra $25 just for that.

Yes, it's a shooter, but it was only $400 (plus the $25 bonus). He also gave me almost 400 rounds of .38 ammo, including 150 rounds of Speer Gold Dots +P's. I'll just be shooting my own WC's out of this gun.

I carefully removed the stocks and was pleased to see they are correctly numbered to the frame. Serial number is K297637, which looks like it was built in early 1957, four years before I was born. The hammer appears to be same style as the pre model 10 snub I recently picked up. I love these old Smith's.

Combat, 50 S&Ws and you are not a member of the S&WCA? Im corn fused.
Been meaning to join for a long time but Every year I Spent all my money on guns and didn't have any left over for membership. Now that I'm unemployed and disabled I couldn't afford to be a member even if I wanted to be so there you go...

That's a great buy, it's what I call a Jesse James purchase only he wore a mask! Nice revolver, great price!

Nice - you'll love it! My CM pre-dates yours by a couple of years and it's one of my best shooters. Enjoy!
